An Honorary Life Membership was bestowed on Martha G. Bridges, post Adjutant. Among her many services to the organization, she maintains the an- nual history book. For three consecutive years it has won the state award for best history book and in national competition has won second place and received two honorable mentions. She also has worked countless hours to ensure proper re- cords were kept. Also, Post 82 Polo shirts were presented to members James Lomick and Calvin Hoyle for their commitment to the post's capital campaign fund. I laughed because I can relate to having that anxious, nervous feeling you get when you are not sure if every- thing is going to work out. Why do we feel like that? In this world, we are sur- rounded by unfaithful people. We know that just because someone says they are going to do something does not mean that the task will be completed or that they will keep their word. Sometimes we are not faithful in some areas in our lives. However - God is faithful! The Greek word in the New Testament for faithful is "pistos". Pistos means faithful, reliable, and trustworthy. As you walk with God in this faith journey, you will begin to see that those attributes accurately describe God's char- acter. However, just like you are uncertain of a person's trustworthiness until you have seen it multiple times, you must walk with God in a variety of situations to experience his faithfulness. The following are ways to become more assured of God's faithfulness: Record God's track record. Our faith is increased when we begin to remember what he did for us the last time. Keep an answered prayer journal and date it. Then you can reflect on it and be reminded of God's faithfulness. Share and Listen to other people's testimonies. Our family, friends, and others have stories of God's faithfulness. It is encouraging and edifying to engage in conversations of what God is doing and has done for those around us. Don't put God in a box. Father God has an aerial view of the circumstance. He knows the past, present, and future. Trust him to put the puzzle pieces together in a way that He sees fit and in His perfect timing. If you find yourself having a moment of doubt as to whether or not God will keep his promise, meditate on these scriptures: "The Lord's loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." - Lamentations 3:22-23 "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thou- sand generations…." - Deuteronomy 7:9 "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one." - 2 Thessalonians 3:3 "If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is." - 2 Timothy 2:13 PRAY THIS PRAYER: "Father God, I praise you because you are abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. When I think of all the things you have done for me and how you have brought me through, my soul is overwhelmed with gratitude. Lord, there are times I have been afraid of getting a negative out- come, although I prayed. Please help me to stay calm and be fully persuaded that you are faithful. In Jesus' name I pray - Amen."
