Entertainment Now | May 30 - June 5, 2020 By Rachel Jones TV Media Back from the past: The be- loved 1980s game show "Press Your Luck" is back. ABC and Fre- mantle are moving forward with a second season after the first, host- ed by Elizabeth Banks ("The Hun- ger Games," 2012), was received by viewers with great enthusiasm. Banks is back with three new con- testants to start the second season of the hit game show, premiering Sunday, May 31, on ABC. The game begins as the contes- tants answer four trivia questions. The contestant who is quickest to buzz in earns three spins of the wheel, but only if their answer is correct. The remaining two con- testants must choose whether the first contestant's answer is correct or if they want to go with one of the two additional answers pro- vided by Banks. Those who didn't buzz in first can earn one spin of the wheel by selecting the correct answer. After the first round of trivia questions, the hopeful players get to move to the Big Board and spin for a chance to earn cash or prizes. As the contestants amass various rewards, the prize value is added to their score. But they'd better not hit a Whammy, or they might lose everything. After two rounds, the contestant with the highest score goes to the bonus game, and they'd better watch out. If they get four Whammies, the game is over. But, if their pot reaches $500,000, they receive extra cash to make up a $1-million prize. This exciting new season is adding two elements, both of which hearken to the original game from the '80s. Starting in the first round, an "Add-A-One" square provides contestants with the chance to add the number 1 to the front of their score, which means even if a contestant has $0, they could come out ahead with $10. Another addition is the "Double Your Money" square, which can double the money in a contestant's bank. Don't miss the exciting new features when Season 2 of "Press Your Luck" premieres Sunday, May 31, on ABC. Quick-witted celebrities: Steve Harvey ("The Steve Harvey Show") is back with his legendary one-liners and two celebrity teams ready to play as "Celebrity Family Feud" returns for a seventh sea- son on Sunday, May 31, also on ABC. The network announced that "Queer Eye: OG" and "Queer Eye: The New Class" are the two teams to kick off the first episode of the season and what ABC is calling its "Summer Fun & Games," which features an impressive slate of game shows. The two "Queer Eye" teams are sure to draw a big audience, as both the old and the new series are iconic and much loved, and each team is compet- ing to earn money for its choice of charity. Carson Kressley leads the "Queer Eye: OG" team, which is playing to win money for The Trev- or Project, an initiative created in 1998 to provide help, intervention and suicide prevention for mem- bers of the LGBTQ community who are 25 and younger. On the other side, Bobby Berk leads the "Queer Eye: The New Class" team in this hour-long show. Bobby and his team com- pete to earn money for the GLSEN charity (previously known as the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network). GLSEN was founded in 1990 by a group of teachers to create re- sources for educators to use throughout their school commu- nities. Its work helps create com- prehensive policies designed to protect LGBTQ students as well as students of marginalized identities. While the money and the causes are serious, the show is sure to be side-splitting fun. The two teams race to guess the top answers from questions posed to 100 people. Tune in for the hilari- ous season premiere of "Celebrity Family Feud" on Sunday, May 31, on ABC. Can you make a match?: The fifth season of "Match Game" is ready and raring to go. A revival of the 1970s hit of the same name, ABC has given this series a mod- ern makeover. Alec Baldwin ("30 Rock") is back with a panel of ce- lebrities and contestants to see who can match answers correctly. The season premiere airs Sunday, May 31, on the alphabet network. In "Match Game," two contes- tants compete to see who can match their answers with the most celebrities on the panel. At the start of each round, contestants are given a choice between two questions. Baldwin then reads a fill-in-the-blank statement. The panel of six celebrities write down their answers while the contes- tants reveal theirs. The contes- tants get points based on how many celebrities they match an- swers with. After two rounds, the contes- tant with the most points goes on to the "Super Match" round, but this time, the contestant tries to match answers with the audience instead. Finally, the contestant must choose a celebrity and match their answer exactly in the "Head- to-Head" match. What makes this edition of "Match Game" especially fun is the homage that is paid to the original production. They kept the old theme song and have a 1970s- inspired set. If you enjoyed the early days of American game shows, this nostalgic remake is for you. Get ready to watch the "Match Game" season premiere when it airs Sunday, May 31, on ABC. SATURDAY 9:20 A.M.
