Heat Wave Coming to an End...If you can sur- vive a few more days of high heat and sweltering humidity, then things will get much better next week. For now, we still have to endure almost record heat and humidity with heat indices of near 100 as return flow around a strong Bermuda High pump excessive heat and humidity over the Southeast. So far this month most of the County has been dodged by needed rains, especially areas south of Highway 74 near Earl and Patterson Springs which have had almost no rain. We all have a better chance of needed showers this weekend before things take a turn for the drier next week, so hopefully areas that have missed the rains can get some before chances go down again. Also, the trop- ics are becoming active. We may soon be watching “Alex” approach the Gulf of Mexico. Have a great weekend and stay cool.
