Born in Cherokee County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late O.B. Ruppe and Irene Fowler Ruppe. She is survived by her hus- band of thirty-one years, Boyd Eugene Hawkins; three children, Regina Swink of Shelby, Cynthia Bridges and husband Miller of Boiling Springs, and Gene Daves and wife Carrie of Fallston; two stepchildren, Annette Putnam of Maiden and Michael Hawkins and wife, Sarah of Shelby; two brothers, Jerry Ruppe of Shelby and Johnny Ruppe of Polkville; two sisters, Mamie Lackey of Polkville and Harriett Cook of Shelby; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Levine's Cancer Institute, Dr. Renee Melton-Smith and the staff of Hospice Cleveland County for all the great care they provided though Juanita's illness. SALLY JEAN KIMBRELL Sally Jean Kimbrell, 65, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on April 24, 2020 at her home. She was born in years was a member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church where she served in the mission- ary department, usher board, vacation bible school and was a van driver for the youth choir. Her pastimes included travel- ing, sewing, shopping and she loved children and she loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Brooks; a brother, Willie Brooks; two sis- ters, Elizabeth Edwards and Olivia Tate and a granddaugh- ter, Sophia Estelle Hopper. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Kia Anise Brooks of Shelby; four brothers, Rev. Larry Brooks, Johnny Brooks (Julie), Joe Brooks and Glenn Brooks all of Shelby and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Due to recent coronavirus state guidelines limiting the size of gatherings, the ser- vice for Ms. Brooks will be private. She may be viewed on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a reception of friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the church. KENNETH EUGENE GIBBS Kenneth Eugene Gibbs, 81, of Yates Road, Shelby, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. Born in Cleveland County, NC on October 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Burgin Thomas Gibbs and Madge Corrine Greene Gibbs. He was retired from Drexel Furniture and Bayliner. Mr. Gibbs served in the Army. In addition to his parents, he was pre- ceded in death by two brothers, Robert Gibbs and William Thomas Gibbs; a sis- ter, Madge Gibbs and a neph- ew, Reginald Gibbs. Survivors include a brother, Arnold Gibbs and wife, Freda of Shelby; two nieces, Tia Gibbs Dabboussi of Shelby and Lynn Gibbs of Shelby; a nephew, Sam Ramsaur and several great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Gibbs will be open for view on Monday, April 27, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. A private graveside will be at Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. DANNY "REDNECK" GOLD III Shelby: Danny "Redneck" Gold III, 55, died Friday, April 24, 2020, at his home. A native of Cleveland Margaret McIntyre; and his special pet, Ruger. JESSE "BJ" LEE TRUESDALE Jesse "BJ" Lee Truesdale, 42, of Vale, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at home with his family by his side. Born in Lincoln County, on December 1, 1977, he was a son of Wanda Hoyle Dellinger of Lincolnton and the late Kenneth Lee Truesdale. BJ was employed by Jerry's Auto Haul as a truck driver and was a member of Anthony's Grove Baptist Church, Cherryville. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Truesdale. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of six years, Angel Coleman Truesdale; six children, Kaylee Lancaster and husband Tyler Bradshaw of Lincolnton, Skyler Truesdale, Lucas Neal, Christian Jimenez, Haley Jimenez, and Summer Coleman all of the home; three brothers, Curtis Daves and wife Cindy of Lawndale, Shane Truesdale and wife Heather of Lincolnton; and Ricky Dellinger of Lincolnton; two sisters, Fonda Holland of Lincolnton and Tara Daniels and hus- band, Bobby of Fayetteville; grandson, Kaycen Bradshaw; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. The private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Dennis E. Bean officiating. The ser- vice will be live streamed on Cherokee Falls, SC, daugh- ter of the late Roy Gill and Geneva Cothran Broome and was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Whiten. Sally was a retired LPN and a former insurance agent. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of God and loved attending church and read- ing her Bible. Sally earned her PhD in Biblical Studies from Heaven's Avenue Baptist University. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sally will be missed greatly by her lov- ing family and friends. ELEASE BROOKS Ms. Elease Brooks, 65, of 2511 Wildwood Drive Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Shelby, NC. She was born on July 27, 1954 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Robert Brooks and Estelle Thompson Brooks. Elease was a graduate of Crest High School and earned an Associate's degree from Cleveland Community College. She did further study at Gardner Webb University. Her employment included working as a computer pro- grammer with Carolina Freight and as a teacher at both No. 3 Township and Graham Elementary Schools. Elease in her younger County, he was the son of the late Dan Thomas Gold Jr. and Elle Elmore Gold. Danny worked for Izzi Mobile Home Movers, and was a member of the WindJammers Bike Club. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Hull; brother, Chris; sister, Vickie Edwards; and two grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, John Lemons and wife Nikki of Shelby, Thomas Gold of Gastonia, and Brandon Gold and wife Jennifer of Morganton; daugh- ter, Ashely Parker and hus- band Travis "Dawg" of Shelby; sisters, Judy Newton and hus- band Tim of Shelby, and Libby Brown and husband Loyd of Lawndale; 9 grandchildren; and his faithful k-9 companion, Bella. He was born February 12, 1960 in Monroe County, Iowa to the late Roy R and Frances Lucille Gillette Nevins. He was retired from Kendrion and was a veteran of the United States Marines. He loved guitars, RC cars and building things with his hands. He enjoyed being out- doors and cherished his time spent with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brett Nevins. JOSEPH RYAN JACKSON Joseph Ryan Jackson, 21, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2020 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, TX. He was born in Gaston County, NC. Ryan was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and the Electrical Lineworker Academy-CCC. He was employed with Primoris T & D and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Ryan was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed doing anything that kept him outside. He will be missed dearly by his family and many friends.
