Scott was born on August 20, 1963 in Cleveland County, NC a son of the late Dennis Lee Heavner and Frances Hammitt Heavner. Survivors include his son, Cody Heavner; a grandson, Jayce Heavner both of the home; a sister, Lisa Eason of Vale; two brothers, Barry Heavner of Crouse and Bengy Heavner of Bessemer City. Also surviving are sev- eral nieces and nephews. A private memorial ser- vice will be held at Stamey- Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. WILBERT HOPPER Mr. Wilbert Hopper, 72, of 3306 Oakcrest Drive Apt. E Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on December 8, 1947 to the late Nannie Hopper and Ralph Byrd. Wilbert was a U.S. Army veteran serving dur- ing the Vietnam era. Wilbert worked for Patterson Florist and was a crane operator at C & C Scrap. He enjoyed and wife Ginger; one broth- er Tommy Short; one sis- ter Judy Freeman and he will also be missed by one grandchild Berlon Jedediah "Jake" Short, III. A public memorial service will be planned for a later date when there is less risk and concern for the health of family and loved ones. TRISIA ANNETTE HOWARD Miss Trisia Annette Howard, 53, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Atrium Health-Lincoln in Lincolnton, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC on September 10, 1966 to the late Edna Howard. Trisia was a graduate of Shelby High School. She enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and talking about the Lord. She enjoyed having barbecues with her family and would want the biggest plate of food fixed and somehow would scarf it all down. Her smile was contagious and everyone she met fell in love with her. She especially loved her niece and nephew and the time she spent with them and her great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Edna and two brothers, Rodney and Timothy Howard. She leaves to treasure her memories, a sister, Melenie Shumate (Lonnie); niece, Reneshia Shumate; neph- ew, Trey Shumate (Shadiah) and great-nephew, Quad. We find comfort in knowing that she no longer knows the troubles of this world but is at peace walking the streets of gold with loved ones gone before. Psalms 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A service is planned at a later date. JEFFREY TODD LITTLEJOHN Mr. Jeffrey Todd Littlejohn, 54, of 630 North Post Road Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on April 9, 1965 to the late Samuel Littlejohn and Eliza Gatewood Littlejohn. Jeffrey loves being out- side, hanging around with family members, hosting cookouts and family gath- Allie was born on August 16, 1937 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of the late Albert Boyd and Nellie Eaker Boyd. She was a 1955 grad- uate of Lincoln High School where she played basketball and made All State her senior year under Jack Kiser. She retired in 2003 from Timken in Iron Station where she worked for 20 years. Allie was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Crouse. She actively participated in the choir, Sunday school and served as President of the E.L.C.A. She also served on council and volunteered at Christian Area Ministries soup kitchen in Lincolnton for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Scott Faulkenbury; three sisters, Scharlene Reynolds; Betty Sigmon and Brenda Holland; brother-in-law Bill Sigmon and the father of their chil- dren, Tommy Howard Faulkenbury. Survivors include a son Steven Dwayne Faulkenbury of Cherryville; two grand- children Hali Faulkenbury and Holden Faulkenbury; two great grandchildren Collin Dellinger and Kinsley Dellinger; a sister, Kay Stewart of Cherryville; a brother-in-law, Bill Holland of Cherryville; nieces and nephews, Myra (Roy) Farnsworth and Sandy (David) Heafner; Joe Bill Holland (Lori); Melissa Mauney; Cindy Burgin (Tim); special Cousins, Joanne Gilroy, Arlene Newton, Jeanie Smith, Anita Stroupe, Judy Chapman, Jerry Randall, Bob Eaker, Barry Eaker and numerous cousins. A private graveside ser- vice will be held at City Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Rick Sloop officiating. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville. BERLON JEDEDIAH SHORT Ellenboro – Berlon Jedediah Short, 79, died peacefully at Willow Ridge surrounded by his family. He was born January 26, 1941 to Beacher Burl "BB" Short and the late Vener Williams Short. Berlon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He lived his best life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a founding mem- ber of Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department and dedi- cated his time serving the community. Also, he was long time member of Campfield Baptist Church. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by one sister Janie Huffstickler and one brother Jimmy Short. He will be missed and is survived by his loving wife Mary Allen Short; two sons Berlon Jedediah Short, Jr. and Todd Wayne Short erings, and spending time with two grand-boys of the home. He also loves to play cornhole with anyone that attempted to play with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Eliza Littlejohn, four sisters: Sarah Addison (Thomas), Anita Littlejohn, Georgette Littlejohn, Marjorie Rowlison; Mother-in-Law Annie Mae Rice; brother-in-law's Gregory W. Lott and Walter Dawson. Jeffrey leaves to cher- ish many wonderful memo- ries, his wife Cynthia Rice Littlejohn and two brothers Lewis Samuel Littlejohn and Mitchell Edward Littlejohn. Also, three sons Reginald Rice (Shannon aka Time Waster), Ricky Littlejohn (Miranda), Brandon Littlejohn (Veronica), two daughters Latoya Davis and Lakedra Norris and five grandchil- dren. A special friend Jerry Wilson and a hosts of aunts, uncles,cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. CODY DEAN McMAHAN Cody Dean McMahan, 28, of Goldrock Trail, Maiden, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at his residence. Born in McDowell County, NC on March 7, 1992, he was the son of Renee McMahan Craig and husband, Dwight of Casar. He was employed by GKN and was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Dwight Craig, Jr. of Casar; two sisters, Michelle Craig and Lana Craig both of Casar; his fiancée, Desirae Brown of Maiden and two step-children, Abby Ledford and Curt Ledford. Lawrence Miller Smith, Jr., age 60, passed away on March 28, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Simpson of Shelby, NC, a sister, Rita Nichols of Tryon, NC, three stepchil- dren, Steve and wife Brooke Simpson of Swannanoa, NC, Thomas Simpson and Michael Simpson, both of Shelby, NC, three nieces, April Nichols, Beth Morris, and Mandy Shaw, four step grandchildren, Lindsey and husband Tyler McKee, Eric Simpson, Kaitlyn Simpson, and Hannah Simpson, and two step great grandchil- dren, Logan McKee and Sadie McKee. Born in Gaston County, NC on June 7, 1959, Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Miller Smith and Jeanette Morris Leviner as well as a son, Joseph Michael Smith.
