Page 8 - shelby shopper & info - 704/484-1047 www.shelbyinfo.com Thursday, April 2-April 8, 2020 TYLER DAVIS Tyler Davis, age 28, of Caroleen, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland. Tyler was born January 17, 1992 in Cleveland County to his loving parents, Gary Davis and Susie Hutchins Davis of Caroleen. At the age of 5, it was determined that Tyler had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Even with his diagnosis, Tyler was determined to live a full life of personal accomplishments and love for others. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 2010 and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Tyler was known for his "quirky" sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He enjoyed playing computer games and having his pet cat, "Miss Kitty" by his side. Tyler's life was complete with the loving care and support of his par- ents along with many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Jessie Hutchins and a special uncle, Roger Hutchins. 1, 1951 in Cleveland County to the late Gary Wilbern Heffner, Sr. and Shirley Louise Hardin Heffner. He was a graduated of Shelby High School, class of 1970. Eddie lettered and was an All-Star in Basketball, Baseball and Football dur- ing his high school years at Shelby. He worked for Clyde A. Short Specialty Company for several years. Eddie enjoyed gardening and was a member of Calvary Way Holiness Church in Kings Mountain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Lee Heffner Sellers and two brothers, Gary Heffner, Jr. and Mike Heffner. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patricia Lawson Heffner; four brothers, David Heffner (Tammie) of Kings Mountain, Dave Heffner of Rutherfordton, Dale Heffner (Beth) of Rutherfordton and Geoff Heffner (Robin) of Shelby. He is also sur- vived by a stepson, Kenneth Wayne (Holly); four grand- children and five great- grandchildren. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. An online guest registry is available at www.harrelson- funeralhome.com CARL "ROGER" McDANIEL SHELBY: Carl "Roger" McDaniel, 65, died Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Hospice of Wendover. He was the son of Dorothy Wilke McDaniel of Shelby, and the late Carl McDaniel. He was a long time mem- ber of Christopher Road Baptist Church, and worked for Putnam's Distributing for eight years, where he made numerous friends. He enjoyed working in his yard. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy McDaniel; and sister, Barbra Bradburn. He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice McDaniel of the home; daughter, Amy McDaniel of Shelby; step-daughter, Wendy McCurry and hus- band Chris of Shelby; grand- children, Payton Glenn, Autumn McCurry, and Summer Barnes and hus- band Jordan, all of Shelby. A memorial service to cel- ebrate Rogers's life will be announced at a later date. Harold was a retired purchasing director of all mainte- nance purchases, including vehicles, for Carolina Freight before his retirement in 1994. He was a 66 year mem- ber of Shady Grove Baptist Church. A member of the Cherryville AF & M Lodge 0505, Cherryville since 1974 and worked with the NC Men's Disaster Relief for 20 years. Harold found much pleasure as a beekeeper, mechanic and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Jackson; and his son, Michael Jackson. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Sellers Jackson; sons, Doug Jackson (Sheree), and Chuck Jackson (Ellen); daughter-in-law, Veda Jackson; grandchildren, Camden Jackson (Nina), Seth Jackson, and Wesley Jackson (Kayla); great- grandchildren, Allie, Braelyn, and Isabella. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Fred Robinson of the home, a son, Mike Robinson and wife Susan of Shelby, NC, two grandchildren, Richard Robinson and wife Nikki of Shelby, NC, and Jennifer In addition to his par- ents, he is survived by his brother Drake Davis (Kate) of Raleigh; grandparents, Eugene and Shirley Davis of Ellenboro; four aunts, Sondra Childres (Steve), Barbara Connell (Steve), Judi Hutchins all of Caroleen and Debbie Bailey (Darryl) of Tryon. He is also survived by a wonderful caregiver, Dorlis "Grammy" Roberts and a host of cousins. A celebration of Tyler's life will be private for the family. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Barbara Green Glover and her husband Ronnie of Boiling Springs, and the late Bruce Simpson. Gary was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and worked many years in the salvage business, where he was known as "Rolo". He most recently worked for Church's Auto Parts. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lisa Simpson of the home; son, Jason Simpson and girl- friend Haley Booth; daugh- ters, Harley, Alexis, and Kimmie Simpson, all of the home; sister, Libby Glover of Earl; brothers, Ronald Glover and wife Chantelle of Waco, and Travis Glover of Boiling Springs; grand- children, MaKenzie, Nevaeh and Payton; and cousin, Lisa Simpson Triplett. Edward "Ed" Henry Vito Jr. died gracefully after a recent illness on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Atrium Monroe. Ed was a resident of Shelby for many years. He was the son of a Classical Harpist and he had a great appreciation for Classical music. Ed could tell you who was playing who was directing when he lis- tened to music. Ed's profes- sional work included coun- seling as a licensed social worker. Ed is preceded in death by a son, Christopher Vito.
