She is predeceased by her daughter, Bethany Johns. Charlotte leaves behind to cherish her memories her spouse, Travis Johns; grand- children, David, Zayden and LeLand; mother, Juanita Philbeck; special aunts, Edna Green and Madge Blanton. She loved people and help- ing in any way she could. When her health permitted she loved to travel. She loved painting and spending time with her precious grandchil- dren. NANCY RENEE WHISNANT SCHULTZ SHELBY - Nancy Renee Whisnant Schultz, loving wife, mother of three children and a native of Cleveland County, passed away at the age of 39 on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Atrium Healthcare - Cleveland. She is prede- ceased by her son, Kyle Ray Martin; grandparents, Joseph and JoAnn Whisnant. He is predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Velma Ledbetter Ellis; wife of 19 years, Trilba Huggins Wade Ellis; infant daugh- ter, Tammy Jo Ellis; par- ents, Miller Ross Ellis and Ella Gertrude McSwain Ellis; brother, Herbert Hoover Ellis;sisters, Vernia Mae Ellis Bess and Louise Helen Ellis Ward. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Sandra Ellis Theis (Dennis W.); grandsons, Wayne Theis (Kristin) and Andrew Theis (Tabatha); granddaughter, Tabitha Theis Hamrick (Jarrod); great-grandson, Easton Theis; great-granddaugh- ters, Carlie Hamrick, Kelsey Hamrick, Lexi Hamrick, Gina Renee Theis and Courtney Theis; brother Harrill Ross Ellis. Billy served in the United States Army. He worked at and retired from Fiber Industries for 30 years in Spinning. His hobbies were gardening, photo album scrap-booking of family and spending time at Lake Lure, He was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was born January 6, 1956 to the late Thomas Wilk Phillips and Mildred Hamrick Phillips. Mr. Phillips went on and served in all capacities in the fire department. Thomas was a Stone and Molly Lampkin Stone. George leaves behind to cherish his memories his chil- dren, Jennifer Stone of the home, William Stone (Heidi) of Lee County, VA; grand- children, Jazmine Stone, Cameron Stone, Tristian Stone and Nia Stone; broth- er, Steven Stone (Heather); nephew, Trevor Stone; aunt, Yvonne Kinard of Campbell, TX. He proudly served in the United States Navy, where he learned his trade as a leader and metal fabricator. He liked to ride his Harley Motorcycle and spending time with his family and black lab, "Grizzley". He always said he was 21 and would always be 21. "21 still looks good on you, Dad." RONALD KEVIN ROWELL Ronald Kevin Rowell, 56 of Kings Mountain, N.C. passed away on March 19, 2020 at Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain, N.C. He was born in Dade County, Miami Beach Florida, to the late James Winford Rowell and Peggy Rippy Rowell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Dan Rowell. Ron began his career as an electrician for the City of Kings Mountain. He worked many construction jobs in Kings Mountain and Oak Island, N.C. area's. He layed brick and tile, worked at plumbing and roof- ing. He was a handyman, a jack of all trades. We liked to say he could build a house from the ground up, by him- self if he had to, because he was Ron Rowell, he could do anything. Ron enjoyed cook- ing his entire life and often checked with his sister Eve for his Mom's recipes. Ron made the best pecan pies, brown- ies and Spaghetti bake ever! He especially enjoyed cook- ing and baking for others. He made special deliveries to his neighbors and great nieces, Taylor and McKenna, when- ever he could. Another recent hobby was playing WII video games with lifelong friend Chris, who declared Ron the 2019 WII Bowling Champion. Ron loved animals and took special care of Chris's dog "Luke", Kim and David's dog "Sadie" and cat "Starr" and Eve and John's dog "Peanut". In recent years Ron enjoyed planting herbs, vegetables and fruits in the Resurrection Community Garden with cous- in Kim. Ron was a bacon eat- ing, RC drinking sweet heart of a guy! Ron had a heart of joy to be around and he made friends easily. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Patricia Martin. He is missed and sur- vived by one daughter Tammy Phillips and one sister Dorothy Sailor. A graveside service will be held at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2020. Pallbearers will be the Fireman from the Cliffside Fire Department with the Board Members of the Cliffside Fire Department serv- ing as honorary pallbearers. The Rev. Tripp Biggerstaff and Rev. Fred William will be officiating the service. Interment will follow the ser- vice at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. She was born to the late Buren Hamrick and Grace Robinson Hamrick. Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a homemaker who enjoyed working with her brother, Charles, at his gro- cery store. While there, she kept the locals in stitches with her jokes and bright smile. Music was one of her great- est joys as she loved to lis- ten to her daughters sing and her grandchildren play guitar. Gospel music was her favor- ite. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Joe Hamrick. She will be missed and sur- vived by her husband Calvin Dixon; three daughters Janet Jau, Sandi Blanton, Kathy Taylor; two brothers Charles and Jimmy Hamrick; three sis- ters Daisy Wylie, Louise Harris and Evelyn Walker. She will also be missed by nine grand- children Brian, Kyle, Brooke, Regina, Jacob, Jeffrey, Luke, Joshua and Matthew; plus, nine great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held 4:30 PM Thursday March 26, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC. The Rev. Kevin Hamrick will officiate the service.
