Jessica Bricker is moving into the role of editor of The News-Banner. Dave Schultz has decided to step down from the position he's held since 2016. "This is probably a good time for me to take a step back," Schultz said. "I am almost two years past the traditional age of retirement, and as much as I love daily journalism and leading a newsroom, it is getting harder for me to keep up with the daily grind." "I am very excited for Jessica and the future of this newspaper. Our succession plan was already in place, this is just happening sooner than we originally expected," Brown said. "I respect and appreciate the work Dave has done and am glad he will remain a big part of what we do." Bricker started at The News-Ban- ner in the summer of 2012 as an intern before graduating with a journalism degree from Indiana University in 2013. She was promoted to assistant editor in the spring of 2017. "I look forward to continuing the work we've built our name on across Indiana as an award-winning newspaper while renewing our focus on local stories that matter to our readers," Bricker said. "The news operation of this newspaper will be in very good hands," Schultz. said. Bricker named editor of Bluffton News-Banner Bricker
