BUY LOCAL LOCAL The East Rutherford speech and debate team competed at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte this past weekend. This was a national circuit tournament with hundreds of competitors representing schools from across North and South Carolina, West Virginia, and Ohio in attendance. Placing fi rst or second in rounds of individual events or winning single fl ights of debate were: Bryson Honeycutt, Rachel Roberson, Harley Wood, Tera Crawford, Kali Thurman, Olivia Nitschke, and Kayla Webb. Ollie Parton's performance earned them a spot in the fi nals of Dramatic Interpretation where they took 6th place overall. Two Duo teams from East Rutherford have qualifi ed to attend a National Tournament. The duo teams of Kayla Webb and Ollie Parton and Kali Thurman and Tera Crawford have placed high enough to attend the Catholic Forensic League's National Tournament in Chicago, Illinois. This marks Ollie Parton's second qualifi cation and Kayla Webb's third. "I'm very proud of the performance of this Cavalier team! They have defi nitely come into their own and have proven that they are now a force to be reckoned with," Coach J. Patrick Moss.
