Pancakes and a host of good causes will come together for a delicious event this weekend. The Forest City Kiwanis Club will host its annual Pruett Walden Memorial Pancake Madness on Saturday, March 14. The event will be in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church at 341 East Main Street from 7 to 11 a.m. Tickets will be available at the door. The proceeds of the event fund a variety of Kiwanis projects including the provision of a dictionary for every third grader in Rutherford County. In conjunction with the Rutherfordton Kiwanis, the club also supports the Aktion Club at Rutherford County Life Services. The club also supports youth sports programs, Terrifi c Kids, South Mountain Christian Camp, Key Clubs and Builders Clubs, along with several scholarships.
