Typical Summertime Weather...We have fully engaged into the 3 “H’s” of Summer...Hot, Hazy and Humid. Get used to this, its going to be here for a while. A stagnant pattern has developed over a lot of the country, which is pretty normal for June. While the jetstream has retreated to near the Canadian border, what’s left across our neck of the woods is a big sprawling Bermuda High Pressure out in the Atlantic. This pumps in return flow off the Gulf of Mexico and causes water vapor to build up each afternoon into those big puffy cumulus clouds. By later afternoon around 5 pm, in some areas the skies open up and a gully washer ensues. The evenings are left damp and muggy, and the next day it all begins again. Typical Summertime weather, eh? By next week, we may heat up again to really hot levels, but I don’t see any 100’s at our doorstep just yet, although its still plenty uncomfortable with all the heat and humidity. Keep your A/C in good working order folks.
