LEND A HAND TO PONTI RIDGE A new recreational trail is taking shape in Pacheco Valle Preserve at the eastern end of Big Rock Ridge. Crews began working last summer on a multiuse trail that will offer glorious views, gentle grades, and reduced environmental impact. Four miles of trail, pathway, and road are being improved or realigned on the Ponti Ridge project. Parks is also removing old barbed wire in this area–a hazard for people, domestic animals, and wildlife. The project was developed in collaboration with the Marinwood Fire Department, Novato Fire Protection District, Marin County Fire Department, Marinwood Community Services District, open space neighbors, and the environmental community. The Marin County Bicycle Coalition and Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise have provided hands on support in a series of Ponti Ridge volunteer events. Join in on Ponti Ridge!
