Additionally, minimally invasive gynecological surgery, also known as vaginal and laparoscopic surgery, is currently the preferred surgical approach for most gynecological surgeries and offered at St. E’s. The latest minimally invasive procedure EsophyX TIF is an effective solution for chronic acid reflux and provides results without an incision. Minimally invasive surgery may not always mean without an incision, however, creating a smaller incision not only minimizes scaring but also offers other health benefits including: • Less pain • Faster recovery • Shorter hospital stay • Early return to normal actives Many minimally invasive surgeries can be performed on an outpatient bases, and with minimal discomfort, many of the patient can go home the same day. Some cases the patient might be required or choose to stay in the hospital overnight.
