Our caviar chefs are the only ones that touch the eggs that go into their private label. 8 What do you enjoy doing in your downtime? I love hanging out with my 13-year-old daughter, Brennan, and with my family. I also love being on the farm, which is my happy place. I'm an introvert in many ways. I love people, but I love being alone, feeding the fish, and hanging out with our livestock. 9 What advice do you have for other women who dream of starting their own business? Trust yourself. Surround yourself with trustworthy people. Most women entrepreneurs I've met have had partners. However, I feel if you can, do it on your own. In return, it becomes yours, and your vision can be achieved. Some words of advice for if you do have to have a partner: make sure they are a really good fit, stay in control and always keep the majority share. After all, it's your dream, dollars and derriere on the line. 10 There are three things I'm looking forward to. First is our caviar bar at head- quarters, which is opening this fall. We'll have a demo kitchen and an education center where consumers can learn how to cook, serve and enjoy caviar. Custom- ers will also have the opportunity to try caviar by the gram before buying retail. Next is my goal that more U.S. caviar companies will adopt sustainability in their practices. We're launching the "liv- ing caviar" which will be a great addition to the caviar industry. My third thing is to further my phi- losophy of making caviar an everyday indulgence. Caviar is not only meant to be a celebratory food but should be integrated into daily routines. This is why I am excited to team up with the first female Iron Chef, Cat Cora, to launch our own everyday indulgence line, Crème, which will be available in stores throughout the country. We want to further our mission that caviar shouldn't be restricted to special occasions, but rather should be enjoyed and integrated into our daily routines. n What do you see in your future?
