n 1958, a small group of Kaiser Permanente physicians began practicing in Marin County. We are proud to be a continuing partner in the health of our community. Kaiser Permanente pioneered the integrat- ed approach to total health, and we continue to lead the way in prevention and high-quality care. Our expert care teams—physicians, nurses, and staff—are dedicated to your health for life, with better prevention, early detection, and advanced treatment. We have grown to meet the needs of our members and our community at our San Rafael Medical Center—nationally recognized by the Leapfrog Group as one of the nation's safest hos- pitals—Emergency Department, and medical offices in San Rafael, Petaluma, and Novato, plus our Oncology and Infusion Services Center on Las Gallinas, and Behavioral Health in both San Rafael and Petaluma. All to help you and your family experience care closer to home. Since the beginning, we have been dedicated to the value of community partnerships, in- cluding the inception of the IJ Giving Marin Partnership. Kaiser Permanente is proud to listen, learn, and contribute as we all work together to create a healthy community. We all benefit when the communities where we live, work, and play are healthy.
