Oct. 8 through Oct. 26 Paula and Sara's Infinite Playlist Where: The Arts Mill, 1300 14th Ave., Grafton Artists Paula DeStefanis and Sara Risley are delighted to present some of their favorite artists in their exhibition. The exhibit includes abstract landscape painter Beki Borman (Milwaukee), printmaker Josh Christensen (Cedarburg), acrylic painter Daniel Fleming (Milwaukee), painter Erica Huntzinger (Sheboygan), mixed media artist Kay Jelinek (Sheboygan), sculptor Joe Mendla (Grafton), painter Mary Mendla (Thiensville), mixed media artist Michelle Schilling (Milwaukee) and painter/drawer Adam Stoner (Milwaukee). DeStefanis (Grafton) will also show her paintings and Risley (Milwaukee) her abstract photographic images and alcohol ink paintings. Oct. 8 through Oct. 30 Concordia University Wisconsin 2019-20 Fine Arts Gallery Season Where: Concordia University Wisconsin, 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon "A Certain Degree of Faithfulness" a one-man show by long-time art professor and former dean of the School of Arts & Sciences Dr. Gaylund Stone, will open the 2019-20 fine arts gallery season. Running concurrently will be "Walking With Trees," etchings by Todd Mrozinski, on display in the adjacent 14 Frames Gallery, which opened a year ago along with a Student Gallery. Jennifer Poetzel, a former professor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, will have her paintings featured in a show titled "Color Creates Light." The gallery is free and open Mondays through Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays and Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 8 through Oct. 31 Teen Read Month and Spooky Bingo Reading Challenge Where: Cedarburg Public Library, W63 N589 Hanover Ave., Cedarburg October is a time to celebrate teen reading and young adult literature. This year's theme is "Supernatural Stories." If you enjoy sinking your fangs into a good scary story, the Spooky Bingo Reading Challenge is the competition for you. Pick up bingo cards, cross off completed activities and redeem for candy and raffle tickets. Information on additional teen programs during the month for those in grades six through 12 can be found at cedarburglibrary.org Select Mondays and Tuesdays, Oct. 8 - Oct. 28 Sociable Singles Time: Social hour 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Cost: $25 yearly fee to cover paperwork Sociable Singles is a group of older adults who like to socialize. Members travel to various destinations, supporting each other, feeling safer doing this. They schedule card games, hiking trips, book clubs, dinners, picnics, movies, etc. Sociable Singles has been in existence for 20 years in the Washington/Ozaukee/Mil waukee county areas. Wednesday, Oct. 9 Little STEAMers Time: 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Where: Cedarburg Public Library, W63 N589 Hanover Ave., Cedarburg Preschoolers want to have fun with STEAM too. Little STEAMer" begins with a book and then explores the STEAM concepts through hands-on activities. This session we will explore the science of sunglasses with Pete the Cat. Listen to the story of how Pete sees the world with his blue sunglasses and learn why protecting your eyes from the sun is important. This program is best suited for ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Fields of Faith is a peer-to- peer movement where thousands of students from across the nation and world gather on their school's athletic field to share stories and challenge each other to apply the Bible as their "game plan for life."
