Entertainment Now | October 5 - 11, 2019 Sunday morning | 7 By Michelle Rose TV Media 'Walking' away: Saying good- bye is never easy, even when you've had a lot of practice. And fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead" have had a lot of practice saying goodbye to characters over the years. The long-running AMC series rises up again on Sunday, Oct. 6, for a 10th season, and you can bet that tensions will escalate as The Whisperers story arc continues. And while no character is ever safe from the living and the un- dead, recent casting news re- vealed that Michonne (Dania Gurira "Avengers: Endgame," 2019) is poised to make a big exit this season. While Gurira has played the role of the katana-wielding zom- bie killer since Season 3, Season 10 will be her last. Rumors had been swirling throughout the pro- longed negotiations with AMC, but Gurira confirmed the news of her departure during the "Walk- ing Dead" panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, which was where her co-star Andrew "Rick Grimes" Lincoln also announced his departure from the series last year. The character's early TV exit may be yet another deviation from the comic book series, which ended its run in July. But the ac- tress's exit isn't all that surprising, considering Gurira's major roles in two big blockbuster movies: 2018's "Black Panther" and "Avengers: Infinity War." "Walking Dead" fans are hop- ing Gurira will be written off in a way that leaves the door open for a reunion with Rick (Lincoln) in the planned TV movie trilogy. As for her next role, she has signed on as showrunner of a new HBO Max series titled "Americanah." Based on a novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the new series is about a woman's journey from Nigeria to America. The project marks another collaboration be- tween Gurira and "Black Pan- ther" co-star Lupita Nyong'o, who also starred in the award- winning Broadway play "Eclipsed" (2009) written by Gurira. The 411 on '911': "911" cre- ators Ryan Murphy ("American Horror Story"), Brad Falchuk ("Glee") and Tim Minear ("Feud") have landed another big name to star in a planned spinoff series. Liv Tyler ("The Incredible Hulk," 2008) has signed on to star opposite the seemingly ageless Rob Lowe ("Parks and Recre- 10/06 7 AM 7:30 8 AM 8:30 9 AM 9:30 10 AM 10:30 11 AM 11:30 12 PM 12:30 S1 S2 WTTV 4 FullCourtPress (N) In Focus Colts 360 Gametime CBS Sunday Morning With Jane Pauley (N) Face the Nation Colts Blue Zone The NFL Today (L) 4 4 WRTV 6 In Touch With Dr. Charles Stanley Good Morning America Sunday This Week Joel Osteen In Touch With Dr. Charles Stanley Carpenter Realtors Nashville Insider More Than Music 6 6 @ WPTA Good Morning America Sunday ABC21 News This Week Ric Runestad Home Connection Indiana Business Retire Purpose Pawn Stars Gametime (N) WISH 7 News 8 Daybreak at 7 a.m. (N) News 8 Daybreak at 8 a.m. (N) News 8 Daybreak at 9 a.m. (N) Inside Indiana Business VeryVera Kick-Off Gridiron Outdoors Sporting Dog 8 8 H WLFI 8 American Athlete Beautiful Homes In Touch With Dr. Charles Stanley CBS Sunday Morning With Jane Pauley (N) Face the Nation Paid Program The NFL Today (L) D WTHR 12 Eyewitness News Weekend Sunrise (N) Sunday Today (N) Eyewitness News Weekend Sunrise (N) Meet the Press (N) Retirement Paid Program IAAF Track World Championships (L) 13 13 O WFYI 20 Dinosaur Train Cyberchase WordGirl Arthur Growing Bolder Joy of Painting Sewing Nancy 2nd Opinion (N) Greener World (N) America Heart.
