Visit vegasinc.com to post your opinion. On Rick Velottas March 18 VEGAS INC column about how tactics used by the Transportation Workers Union are hurting negotiations between flight attendants and Allegiant Air (Union cuts off flight attendants nose): When are the unions going to start their own union-owned and union-managed airlines to compete against the evil oppressor class? Something like Teamster Airlines. All the pilots, flight attendants, baggage handlers, gate people and everyone who works for Teamster Airlines get an honest wage. The consumer is dying to see this. I might even fly it once, just so I can see what great service they had to offer for higher ticket prices. BuskinTederodemowitz When having an Allegiant ticket or traveling on one, you are subject to the very worst treatment one might expect, and then some. When we travel to the Midwest, we use Southwest (two bags and a carry-on fly free). On Allegiant, that adds up to a lot of money. Homer W Ive flown Allegiant, and the fares are cheap but the service poor. Ok, thats a trade-off. But they are also dishonest. You have to be very careful negotiating the website in order to not get ripped off. Their 800-number does not have any humans manning it. They charge extra for refundable fares and then dont refund anyway. Maybe a little union pressure can force them to be better with their customers. RobManis If Southwest is the Wal-Mart of airlines, Allegiant is the 99-cent store with crappy stuff that breaks right away. I was in Hawaii last week when three of their planes had mechanical failures at once. There were 500 people stranded in Honolulu, and there were another 500 stranded at locations in California. Mossadegh On Eli Segalls March 15 vegasinc.com story about how rare speculative arena projects are (Henderson City Council failed to see red flags on stadium project; speculative arenas are practically unheard of): It seems to me that Henderson needs to let the citizens know how their due diligence was conducted. For example, where are the project financing documents that were fully approved? Were they given to the city, and if so, are they not now public records? DavidBloom1 On Rick Velottas March 11 VEGAS INC column about the Genting Groups Singapore resort and its decision to build a new casino-hotel in Las Vegas (Taking a closer look at Singapore): Genting will provide Vegas with a much-needed boost. Billions will be infused into the economy. This project will move the unemployment rate down and help Vegas emerge from the recession. JuanitaFeenis | 25 MARCH 2013 | 3/21/13 2:27:18 PM
