He was the son of the late Morgan Nelson London and Cora Lee Gordon London. Mr. London served our country in the U.S. Army Air Force dur- ing World War II. He is also preced- ed in death by his wife, Hazel Willis London; three broth- ers, Morgan Nelson London, Jr., Dwight L. London, and Clarence E. London; and four sisters, Dot Willis, Betty Hede, Ruth Bunn and Pauline Dochterman. Mr. London is survived by his daughter, Lou London Wagner and husband, Richard; son, Datha Gary; and four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral service was held at Lafayette Street United Methodist Church. Burial followed the service in Cleveland Memorial Park. She was the daughter of the late Asbury and Pearl Truelove Poteat. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters. Mrs. Durbin is survived by her husband, Stephen Durbin; daughter, Tammy Wright and husband, Lee; son, Lee Durbin and wife, Lisa, both of Fallston; step- daughter, Dolores Newton and husband, Michael; step- son, Kenneth Durbin and wife, Allison; and ten grand- children and five great grand- children. She was born to the late Herman Memory Jones, Sr. and Connie Scruggs Jones. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Jones; three brothers, Herman Jones, Jr. (Lillie), Walter Jones (Tiny) and Raeford Jones (Sarah); and two sis- ters Melvina Humphries and Evelyn Martin. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, John Edward Ruppe; two daughters, Barbara Wells and Rhonda Ruppe; one brother, Barry Jones and wife, Frances; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Martin and Maynard Humphries; and four grand- children and four great- grandchildren. Services were held at Prospect Baptist Church. She was laid to rest at Fredrick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, SC following the service. RANDY LIND GROOTERS Randy Lind Grooters, age 67, of Shelby, NC, passed away on September 2, 2019. He was the son of Marjorie Helen Johnson Grooters of Shelby and the late Robert Henry Grooters. She was the wife of John Stevens and the daughter of the late Clare and Ruby Barkley Ogg. Mrs. Stevens is survived by two sons, Shane and Jim Hilliker; three step-sons, Ed McEntyre, Albert Stevens, and Allen Stevens; a step- daughter, Lori Stevens; two brothers, Steve Ogg and Roger Haataja; one sis- ter, Vicki Moore; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. CHRISTOPHER "LESTER" HARDIN Christopher "Lester" Hardin, 62, of Blacksburg, passed away August 29, 2019. He was the husband of Patsy Andrews Hardin and the son of Mildred Cobb Hardin and the late Lester Avery Hardin. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hardin is sur- vived by a special daugh- ter, Brittney Richards; and a brother, Dennis "Coon" Hardin and wife, Lou Ann "Booty," all of Blacksburg. BOBBY LEE RAMSEY Bobby Lee Ramsey, age 82, of Kings Mountain, NC, went to his permanent home in Heaven on August 30, 2019. He was the son of the late Lloyd Ledoux "Dood" Ramsey and Aileen Terry Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey served our country in the United States Marine Corps. She is survived by her husband, John Dean Dedmon of the home; three children, James Dedmon of Shelby, NC, Michael Dedmon of Forest City, NC, and Karen Dedmon of Shelby, NC; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two brothers, Edward Swink and wife, Linda of Mooresboro, NC and A.V. Swink and wife, Linda of Grover, NC. She was the daughter of the late William and Lola Tessnear Swink and was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
