She was born to the late Stonewall Matthew Scates and Elizabeth Athalee Morton Scates and was pre- ceded in death by one sis- ter and one brother, Jerry Ramsey and Steve Scates. Mrs. Morrison is sur- vived by her husband, Walter Morrison; daughters: Melissa Dawn M. BILLY LEO NAIL Mr. Billy Leo Nail, 91, of Concord, formerly of Cherryville, NC, passed away on July 23, 2019. He was a son of the late Thomas Leo Nail and Marybelle Rumley Nail. Mr. Nail served our coun- try in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Thomas Nail; a daughter, Sylvia Ann Nail and a sister, Elizabeth Nail Southern. He is survived by a daughter, Katrina Nail Freeman and husband, Ronnie of Mooresville; a son, Lester Claude Nail and wife, Lindacarol of Salisbury; a brother, Thurmon D. Bobby Gene Rogers, Jr., 45, of Asheville, NC, formerly of Shelby, passed away on June 21, 2019. He was the son of Mr. Bobby Gene Rogers, Sr., and Cherry Rogers.
