AUSTIN LANE "JIM" CROTHERS JR. Austin Lane "Jim" Crothers Jr., age 80, of Shelby, NC, passed away on August 3, 2019. He was the son of the late Austin L. Crothers and Nona Leffler Crothers. Mr. Crothers served our country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was pre- ceded in death by one sister Constance Buchanan. He is survived by his wife, Anne Ide Crothers; one son, Dr. A. Lane Crothers and wife, Martha of Normal, IL; one daughter, Cynthia Dominick and husband, Gregory; and five grandchildren. He was born to the late Henry Robert and Evelyna McFadden Eaves.
