AUSTIN LANE "JIM" CROTHERS JR. Austin Lane "Jim" Crothers Jr., age 80, of Shelby, NC, passed away on August 3, 2019. He was the son of the late Austin L. Crothers and Nona Leffler Crothers. Mr. Crothers served our country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was pre- ceded in death by one sister Constance Buchanan. He is survived by his wife, Anne Ide Crothers; one son, Dr. A. Lane Crothers and wife, Martha of Normal, IL; one daughter, Cynthia Dominick and husband, Gregory; and five grandchildren. The family will hold a memorial at a later date. He was born to the late Henry Robert and Evelyna McFadden Eaves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Albertine Hartgrove, Mary Elizabeth Joyner and Diane Eaves and brothers, Willie Eaves, Nathan Eaves and James "Jimmy" Henry Eaves. Mr. Eaves is survived by his siblings, Everett Watson (Rose) of Rockledge, FL, Verhoff and wife Evelyn of Ohio, Orville Verhoff and wife, Audrey of Ohio and Victor Verhoff and wife, Pat of Idaho; a sister, Delores Annesser of Ohio; and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was born to the late Harold Edwin and Gwendolyn Holbrook Koehler. Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband, Jack Charles Gibson, Sr.; chil- dren, Harold Shanholtz of Charlotte, Robin Shanholtz of Grover, Jack Gibson, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Kings Mountain, and Madeline Bartel and husband, Rob of Tennessee; brothers, Roger, Carl, and Vincent Koehler; sister, Deborah Holzer; and seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was the husband of Kay Allison Hardin and the son of the late Ben and Edna Mae Martin Hardin. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hardin is survived by Rosalind Wilson, Tommy Eaves and Shirley Eaves all of Shelby. A memorial service was held at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Enloe Mortuary is serving the family. BOBBY GENE FITCH, JR. Bobby Gene Fitch, Jr., age 48, of Shelby, NC, passed away on August 5, 2019. He was a son of Gloria Hollifield Fitch Stidham and husband, Larry and the late Bobby Gene Fitch, Sr. Mr. Fitch was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa M. Fitch. He is survived by a son, Jonathan Martin and wife, Randy of Casar; a daughter, Ricky Martin of Shelby; three grandchildren; two sisters, Gennie Thackerson and hus- band, Scott of Shelby and Chantelle Glover and hus- band, Ronald of Cherryville.
