July 30 through Aug. 25 "Indiana Green: 10th Year Anniversary Exhibit" Time: Opening reception 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday Where: Cedarburg Cultural Center, W63 N546 Washington Ave., Cedarburg Indiana Green is a regional group exhibition of 2-D and 3-D works by artists living and working in Wisconsin, Illinois and Oregon. The exhibition features a diverse body of work by 49 contemporary artists working in media including painting, collage, sculpture, printmaking, installation, mixed media and photography. The exhibition represents the artists' personal exploration of materials, media and ideas behind their contemporary art practice. The exhibit was first organized in 2010 by Frank Juarez of the Frank Juarez Gallery. The 2019 exhibit is cocurated by Frank Juarez and Melissa Dorn. A public opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Wednesday, July 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A cash bar and complimentary refreshments will be available. July 31 through Sept. 29 Exhibitions at Cedarburg Art Museum Time: Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Where: Cedarburg Art Museum, W63 N675 Washington Ave., Cedarburg Cost: Free Through Sept. 15: Selected artwork from the CAM Collection demonstrates how Cedarburg has been a haven for artists painting outdoors, or en plein air, for many years. This exhibition shows outdoor paintings from a unique summer in 1927 Cedarburg, and then special, award-winning contemporary plein air artworks from 90 years later. Through Sept. 29: "Tim Fonk: Forms & Feathers," solo exhibition of wall masks and a selection of avian studies on paper alongside the wood and steel sculptures they inspired. Through Sept. 29: "For the Love of Cedarburg: The John W. Koenig Collection" Cedarburg collector John Koenig has assembled an interesting array of paintings featuring his beloved Cedarburg as the subject. Plein air paintings and historic recreation paintings reveal aspects of Cedarburg's architectural and natural landmarks over the past 16 years. Through Sept. 29: "Peter Kudlata: Abstract Inspirations" Landscape designer Kudlata uses paint to express himself. This exhibition reveals Kudlata's "emotional landscapes" that embrace the physicality and emotional release of abstract painting. Thursday, Aug. 1 Port Exploreum presents: Ship Dog of the Great Lakes Time: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Where: Port Exploreum, 118 N. Franklin St., Port Washington Cost: Free Author Pamela Cameron and award-winning illustrator Renee Graef will present their latest book, "Sport: Ship Dog of the Great Lakes." In 1914, crew members of the lighthouse tender Hyacinth rescued a stray puppy from the Milwaukee River and named him Sport. For the next 12 years, this charming Newfoundland- retriever mix lived the life of a ship dog. In this beautifully illustrated children's book, readers share in Sport's adventures while discovering the various ways lighthouse tender ships help keep the lake safe for others.
