He is best known for training more than 600 realtors to conduct their real estate businesses with professionalism and efficiency. The Chicago Association of Realtors presented their President's Award to him in 2007. The Illinois Association of Realtors has recognized him for outstanding service. He has served on the board of directors for both the Chicago Association of Realtors and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. GENIE BIRCH Broker Century 21 Real Estate LLC Genie Birch has worked with numerous inbound and outbound international clients. She has brokered more than 300 transactions throughout her career. Her services include helping clients in short sales, foreclosures and finding million-dollar homes. Over the course of her career, generated more than $70 million in business. Recruitment, training, and other brokerage management responsibilities have also been a large part of her work. In 2010, the Chicago Association of Realtors recognized Genie with the Realtor of the Year Award. JOE CASTILLO Owner/ Managing Broker RE/MAX Mi Casa Castillo is a second generation Realtor, following in the footsteps of Maria and Jose Castillo, co-founders of Mi Casa Real Estate Inc. He served as national chairman of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and as president of the Chicago Association of Realtors where he served as the association's first Latino president in its 134-year history. She is a founding member of the Chicago National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals chapter and served on the board of the Chicago Boys and Girls Club – Logan Square for 15 years. She is the firstborn of nine children and grew up in a home with four generations. She is married and currently has two school age children. FELIX GONZALEZ Attorney Healthcare Alternative Systems Gonzalez has been practicing law for more than 18 years, primarily in real estate law. He represents clients on purchases, sales, foreclosures, short sales, and evictions. He has been a frequent guest speaker at real estate offices throughout northern Illinois, discussing issues that include how undocumented immigrants can safeguard their properties in the event of deportation or illness. MABÉL GUZMÁN Broker @properties Guzmán has been advocating for clients since 1997 with a business focus on first-time home buyers. She is known for honesty and an ability to build productive relationships. She worked with the City of Chicago to ensure that more than 30,000 homeowners had the opportunity to file tax appeals. She is a member of the Women's Council of Realtors. In 2014 and 2015, she received the Presidential Medallion for Outstanding Service from the Illinois Association of Realtors. During the last 10 years his expertise has expanded into management. Today, he oversees six offices and leads a staff of more than 20 professionals. Since 2014 Walton has generated $15.7 million in gross revenue, completing 629 projects and 157 flips. In 2019 Walton expects to double its 2018 gross revenue to $5.7 million. In 2016, Reyes was awarded the Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Joseph Business School in recognition of outstanding contributions by entrepreneurs and their organizations to eradicate extreme poverty and transform communities. JOSE RODRIGUEZ Co-Owner Rodriguez Home inspectors Inc Rodriguez came to the United States from Tampico Tamaulipas, Mexico, obtained a GED and was a factory electrician for 14 years before starting his own company. In 2019 he marks his 17th year in business. He has been chairman of the Hispanic Chamber of Lake County. In October 2009 the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and WKRS-AM asked him to start the weekend Spanish radio talk show "Union Latina" that discusses issues affecting the community. HERIBERTO "ED" RUIZ President & Managing Broker R4 Commercial Real Estate Solutions Inc. Ruiz has been an active broker and investor for more than 20 years. He spent more than 18 years at Northern Trust Corp. in different roles. As managing director and vice president of Northern Trust's Logan Square Financial Center, Ruiz managed a $300 million CRE portfolio that included all commercial property types. He takes great pride in volunteering in community organizations and has served as a board member and advisor for several nonprofit organizations for 16 years. MAURICIO SANCHEZ CEO Sanchez & Rivera Title, LLC In 1995, Sanchez and Ron Rivera founded Sanchez & Rivera Title. It became the first Hispanic-owned title insurance company in the United States. Sanchez & Rivera expanded beyond Chicago and now serves clients throughout the United States and Mexico. Sanchez is an advocate for consumer education, entrepreneurship, Hispanic home ownership, and higher education in the Latino community. He currently serves as president of the Hispanic Bankers Foundation. ERIKA VILLEGAS Office Administrator RE/MAX Mi Casa Villegas is one the top residential Realtors in Chicago. She is a top producer of the Chicago Association of Realtors and is in the top 1 percent of city Realtors.
