We only saw a boss on Mondays and Fridays. I prospected for coal by core drilling. It was a great job. It was there I learned about trees, and how to find ginseng, and morel mushrooms. Those short years impacted by outdoor life more than any other stage of my life. It was at that time when I really did come to the point I believed "A country boy can survive." Even though I was gullible toward some things, I knew in order to get to the good stuff, I had to be willing to jump in even when I wasn't sure about the outcome. More than once, I was the brunt of a joke because I ate something or did something that I really shouldn't have. Like the time I ate the root of a plant because my mentor told me that Indians did. It turned out that that it was some sort of bitter root that made me feel like I had swallowed my grandmother's pin cushion. You may ask why somebody would do you that way. Because they knew I would bite (pardon the pun). They knew I would try it. They knew I would jump in. How many times have you offered a child a bite of food that he has never tried, only to have him respond "I don't like it?" You say, "But you've never even tried it!" And he says, "I don't like it." And you scratch your head (because he's just like you were). Well, when I was a young adult, I was willing to try most anything. I knew since my little city offered very little, I must expand my horizons when given the oppor- tunity. Sometimes I was glad I did and other times I was not. But I do think it is certainly the way to go because I also think regret is more painful than failure. For me, regret lingers longer and has nothing to fall back on. If I fail, I can at least say I tried, and move on. If I take no action, I wallow, wish, and wonder about what could have been. If you are a follower of Christ, God calls us to step out into areas that are risky and unknown. He does so, so that He can do miraculous things in and through our lives, Gary has three books that are compilations of the articles he has written for nearly 15 years. He also speaks at game dinners and men's groups for churches and associations. We have it wrong saying God Bless America. We should be saying America Bless God! God has already blessed America and we Americans have taken advantage of it. We have turned our backs to God! We no longer can say God bless America, we should be telling America to bless God. America is becom- ing a country of freedom from religion and set of freedom of religion. We have taken prayer out of schools and ability to read our Bibles in schools. We're getting to where you cannot evangelize or even share Christ anymore. We as Christians need to become freedom fighters and stand up for our rights that are being slowly taken away. I think we don't stand up because we either don't know the word of God or were afraid of what man will think. Remember we answer to God, not man. If you want God to bless you and our nation. We need a bless Him! Now, I'm not talking about prosperity type stuff. I'm talking about we need to put Him first. Matthew 6:33 tells us a twofold statement. Seek ye first the kingdom of God AND His righteousness. Note the "AND" that means we have to do both not one or the other most people leave out the second part. We must seek out the kingdom of God. That means doing His will even if it goes against what man says. Look at the apostle Paul he did that! He may have been imprisoned beat up but hey he gave his life for Christ and that's what we're told to do. The second part is we must seek His righteousness. Remember we are sinful and He was sinless. There is nothing we can do or can't do it's all about what Jesus has done for us on the Cross of Calvary. His righteousness has been imputed onto Us, His believers. None of us is righteous only Jesus is that's why we got to seek out His righteousness. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is so others will become followers as well. Every now and then you may taste the sting of a bitter root, but I promise the sting of regret will hurt more… and longer. Sunday Services 1st Service at 9:00 A.M. 2nd Service at 10:30 A.M. Our Lord and Savior saved us all from our sins. Unrighteous we may be, but the grace us God set us free. Rely on God, He will show our paths. The truth is in God's Word, the Bible, His Holy Book. Helping one another along the way. Obedient to what God wants us to do. Father, Creator, God is He. Jesus died for our sins. United one day, we believers will be in Heaven. Love one another as Christ loved us. You are a special creation made from God, our Heavenly Father. courageouschristianfather.com/ fourth-of-july-poemacronym/ DOWNLOAD & PRINT AT: FREE PRINTABLE DOWNLOAD! not from yourselves; it is God's gift, not from works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 Both of these go together too. When we seek the kingdom of God we are also seeking out the righteousness of Jesus Christ. And when were seeking out the righteousness of Jesus Christ where you are seeking out the kingdom of God. Psalm 33:12, it tells us "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord". This shows us that we must put God first to be blessed. Sadly America is turning its back on God with all the sinful laws they are approving that goes against the Word of God. Part of turning our back on God is where we believe good is bad and bad is good. Isaiah 5:20, tells us, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" That seems like us today here in America and even now throughout most of the world. Even Jeremiah says in Jeremiah 17:5, Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.". Here again, in America, we are turning to man and not God. We are allowing man change what God says. We are living by the flesh more and more each day. We are turning away from the Lord too. Stop saying God Bless America! So America let's stop saying God bless America and start saying America Bless God! If we want God to Bless America, we must first bless Him. As a Nation in whole, we are not blessing God! Because we are not blessing God, God's hand of protection is slowly coming off from us. Wake up America! Take a look at what is going on around us. Today we want hands outs and we want what God can do for us. We don't realize it is what we can do for God. Like the saying Ask Not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. We can apply that to God. Ask not what God can do for you, ask what you can do for God. Be available!
