Walker from Spindale, NC. DIP Curry Dip For something different and sure to be a conversation piece at your next get together, try this. Curry Dip from SUE GAINEY. 1 Cup mayonnaise; 1 teaspoon curry powder; 1 teaspoon grated onion; 1 teaspoon horseradish; 1 teaspoon cider vinegar; 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder. Mix all ingredients well. This is an excellent dip for cauliflower, carrots, celery or any other raw vegetable. It also keeps very well in the refrigerator for several weeks. It is yellow in color. The recipe can be doubled or tripled. APPETIZER Spinach Balls Here's a good recipe for appetizers. Spinach Balls compliments of MARY KISER. 2 packages frozen spinach, chopped; 2 cups corn bread stuffing mix; 3/4 cup melted butter; 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese; 1 tablespoon garlic salt; 1 teaspoon pepper; 1/2 teaspoon thyme. Mix together and chill. Roll into balls. Bake at 320º for 15 to 20 minutes. DIP Taco Dip If you like Mexican, you'll love this dip. NANCY WATTS shares her recipe for Taco Dip. 1 pound hamburger; 1 8 oz. jar mild taco sauce; 1 package taco seasoning mix; 1 8 oz. carton sour cream; 1 can refried beans; 1 packaged (2 to 3 cups) shredded cheddar cheese. Cook hamburger until done, drain; Mix hamburger, taco sauce, taco seasoning mix, sour cream and refried beans. Heat well land mix in cheese until mixture is hot and cheese is melted. You may cook this on stove top or in microwave. Serve this dip with tortilla chips. APPETIZER Ham Wraps A most popular snack you can easily prepare is Ham Wraps. This from LUANN BEAVER. 1 pound sliced ham; 8 oz. cream cheese; 4 oz. sour cream; 1/4 cup minced onion; 2 tablespoons minced chives; 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Blend all ingredients together except the ham slices. Spread the mix on the ham slices & roll up the ham, securing them with toothpicks; Cut the ham rolls in 1/2 inch slices to create pinwheels. Chill for 30 minutes or longer if possible. CASSEROLE Squash Casserole By M.L. Walker. 3 cups chopped squash, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 heaping table spoon minced garlic, Salt & Pepper to taste, ½ cup flour, ½ cup corn meal. Mix all together, put in non-stick pan at 275˚, little butter and oil. Cook till one side is brown as you like, then turn over. You may have to scramble after 3 or turn overs, do not scorch. ©CommunityFirstMedia Media M di Page 6 -
