Joan King didn't expect to have to visit the emergency room at Rutherford Regional Medical Center after going to her eye doctor with a bout of optic neuritis. "My eye doctor wanted me to have blood work because I was also having headaches and he thought it might be temporal arteritis," she said. The emergency department staff took care of drawing Joan's blood and discharged her quickly, with Physician Assistant Brent Sprange offering to call not only her eye doctor with results, but Joan as well. "It was such a nice gesture. He didn't have to make either one of those phone calls. He saved me a bunch of time." Joan said having a caring, prompt staff in the emergency room is a wonderful convenience for county residents. "We are so blessed to have this medical center."
