"Independence Day" is a 1996 American science fiction action film directed and co-written by Roland Emmerich. The film focuses on disparate groups of people who converge in the Nevada desert in the aftermath of a worldwide attack by an extraterrestrial race of unknown origin. The film is rated PG-13. July 2 through July 28 "Voyages – the art of Laura Weber and Deb Mortl" Where: Pink Llama Gallery, W62 N580 Washington Ave., Cedarburg Mixed media fiber artist Laura Weber of Grafton works primarily in creating sculptural and functional baskets with natural and man-made found objects to add artistic touches to traditional basket forms. For this exhibit Weber sculpts abstract boat forms, seeking to tell a portion of her family story of migration and immigration. Deb Mortl is an artist and art educator from Mequon. She builds many transparent layers using oil paint until the surfaces are filled with color and texture, creating a transcendental feel. Usually, a STEAM project is a combination of two or more of these core elements. Each week children will work to create something and/or overcome an obstacle.
