She was born August 18, 1946, in Petersburg, to Low- ell and Margaret Fair. She was a homemaker and a member of the Peters- burg Moose Lodge #1617. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Bowl- ing; two sons, Edward Bowl- ing, Jr. and Richard Bowling; a brother, Larry Fair; a sis- ter, Donna; and five grand- children. Services will be at 10 :30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Harris Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wilson Creek Cemetery in Monroe City. ALMA ALEAN WILLIS Alma Alean Willis, 88, of Petersburg, entered rest on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg. She was born on August 6, 1930, in Rumbletown, to Lloyd and Goldie (Hill) Pip- kin. She had worked in sever- al restaurants in the Peters- burg area and at Golden Liv- ing in Petersburg. She is survived by her children, Lana Hundley, of Douglas, Ga., Kenneth Roney Willis and Eva Willis, both of Petersburg, Jim Wil- lis, of North Port, Fla., and Mary King, of Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band, Hector James Willis; a brother, Charles "Buck" Pip- kin; a sister, Faye Houchins; a daughter Lynda Younker; and son, Adam Willis. A Celebration of Life was at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday, June 28,,2019, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with Rev. John Hun- dley officiating. TIFFANY ANN STAFFORD Tiffany Ann Stafford, 37, of Winslow, passed away June 25, 2019, in Jasper. She was born May 4, 1982, in Evansville, to Rebecca (Clark) Wright. She is survived by her husband, Dustin Stafford, of Winslow; children, Troy Stafford, Ethan Stafford and Kaitlyn Stafford; mother, Rebecca Wright, of Evans- ville; brother, Matthew Meeks; sister, Stephanie (Neil) Gardner; and a neph- ew, Kenny Gardner. Services were at 2 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial followed at Hamline Chapel Cemetery in Monroe City. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Harris Fu- neral Home was entrusted with her care. MAURY L. CUNDIFF Maury L. Cundiff, 88, of Petersburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday afternoon, June 27, 2019, after a long illness. He was born in Peters- burg on October 1, 1930, to Herman and Opal (Dick) Cundiff and was a lifetime resident of Petersburg. He was a retired conduc- tor for the Conrail Railroad, with nearly 50 years of ser- vice. He had a passion for horse racing and had been a thoroughbred racehorse owner. He was a dedicated mem- ber of the Petersburg Moose Lodge, where he went al- most daily to play pool and engage in conversation with his many cherished friends. He hunted and fished Pike County most of his life and enjoyed telling stories of those days. He had an ap- preciation for wildlife and in his later years, he sat dai- ly observing nature from his front porch swing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by sons, To- ny, of Houston, Texas, and Mike, of Thorntown, Ind.; a daughter, Scarlet Cundiff Frazier, of Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Sue Nations, of Cape Fear, N.C.; grand- sons, Jeremy Cundiff, of Palm Coast, Fla., Shad, Na- than and Chance Cundiff, of Houston, Texas, Christo- pher, of Lebanon, Ind., and Tony, of Thorntown; grand- daughters, Kacie Cundiff, of LaFayette, Nikki Sarah, of Thorntown, and Emily Bayne, of Vincennes; nine- teen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand- child. He was preceded in pass- ing by a son, Joey; his former wife, Arbutus Johnson Reed; wife, Alice (Knowles); brother, Tommy, of Frank- lin; and his parents. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Ju- ly 4, 2019, at Harris Funer- al Home, with Pastor Ron Ficklin officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery. CARL KENT BURNS Carl Kent Burns, 76, passed away peacefully at his home at 4:17 a.m. on Fri- day, June 28, 2019. He was born December 8, 1942, in Princeton, to Brady and Louise (Potter) Burns. He married Julie Pieper on August 9, 1986, in Loo- gootee United Methodist Church in Loogootee. He received his bachelor's degree from Oakland City University and his master's degree from Indiana Univer- sity. He and his wife, Julie (Pieper), have owned and operated Pieper-Burns State Farm Insurance since 1987. Prior to that, he taught busi- ness at Shoals High School and later was an Associate Professor of Business at Vincennes University Jas- per Center. He was a mem- ber of Shiloh United Meth- odist Church. He dearly loved his fam- ily, being at his home, bird watching and IU basketball. Surviving are his wife, Julie Burns, of Jasper; son, Kent (Patti) Burns, of Car- mel, Ind.; daughter, Andrea (Aaron) Jones, of Shoals; son, Evan Burns, of India- napolis; seven grandchil- dren; and two great-grand- children. A Celebration of Life Ser- vice was at 10 a.m. on Tues- day, July 2, 2019, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, in Jasper. Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, con- tributions be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, Young Life or favorite char- ity. CAROLL WAYNE HOUCHIN Caroll Wayne Houchin, 77, of Loogootee, formerly of Washington, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Eastgate Nursing in Wash- ington. He was born on November 28, 1941, in Pike County, to Robert Houchin and Daph- ne Mae DeJarnett Houchin. He was a retired truck driver and he enjoyed rac- ing cars. He is survived by three daughters, Dana (Dave) Petty, of Montgomery, Angela Daley, of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, and Carol Bateman, of Wash- ington; seven grandchil- dren; and 16 great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents; five broth- ers, Burl Houchin, Arthur Lee Houchin, Frank Houch- in, Bryce Houchin and Rob- ert "Jim Bob" Houchin; five sisters, Bonnie Whit- ney, Maxine Riley, Imojean Matthews, Alice "Judy" Ma- son and Rosemary "Susie" Smith; two infant siblings, Grace and Theresa; one son, Herman Wayne; and one daughter, Tonya Renae. A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the Pride's Creek Park Shelter House #2 in Petersburg.
