BACKYARD ADVENTURES 2019 PIKE PUBLISHING 3B HAUBSTADT SOMMERFEST Willkommen (welcome) to Haub- stadt's Sommerfest and Laufenfest Race, the annual festival for celebrating the town's heritage with a homecom- ing, whether you're a local returning or an out-of-town guest. Set for June 20 -22, the festival is planning for the rides and food to open every night at 5 p.m., the music area will open at 7 p.m., with DJs Trevor & Higgy performing on the Main Stage from 8 p.m. to midnight June 20. On June 21, a south stage talent show will feature a variety of musical acts on the grounds in front of the Old Haubstadt gymnasium. Anyone may enter for $10 per person, regardless of the number of groups the person is in, but registration is due to Matt Walker, mailed to 707 E. Haub St., Haubstadt, by June 17. Registration is available at HaubstadtSommerfest.com/wp- content/uploads/2016/12/Haubstadt- Sommerfest-Talent-Show-2019.pdf The music area will open at 7 p.m. June 21, with Tailgate Revival taking the Main Stage at 8 p.m. and ending at midnight. Those racing the next morning can pick up their race packet beginning at 7 p.m. June 21. The Laufenfest, the lederhosen-op- tional run, will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 22, with the children's "Little Dutch Run," which is followed by a 5K Run at 8:20 a.m. and a 5K walk at 8:25 a.m. A 1 p.m., the annual parade will snake through Haubstadt. Last year, parade watchers ambushed their favor- ite floats with water guns, hoses and more, while those on the float brought their own water-based ammunition. Then the music area will open at 7 p.m., and Torpedo Vegas returns to the stage for an encore to last year's successful performance on the Main Stage.
