SalinasRotaryDowntownClub annual event continues to be a great party for a great cause The9thAnnualPigs, Pinot & More is just around the corner. Hosted by the Salinas Rotary Downtown Club, this fundraising event brings the flavor of Monte- rey County's wine country and gourmet nibbles to the spacious Jet West Hanger near the Salinas Airport on March 2, 2019. Guests will be treated to delectable bites, while sampling award winning Monterey County wines. The event will feature creatively prepared pork dishes and many wineries will be pour- ing Pinot Noir - but don't forget about the "MORE!" It's MORE than just pork bites, and MUCH MORE than just velvety pinots. Chef Tony Baker of Mon- trio Bistro, and creator of Baker's Dry Cured Bacon, pulls in more than a dozen of Monterey County's best Chefs to showcase their cra . Your taste expecta- tions are guaranteed with Chef's like Tim Wood from Carmel Valley Ranch, Chris- topher Vacca from Hyatt Carmel Highlands Inn, Brian Kearns from Quail Lodge, and Eduardo Coronel from Rio Grill, just to list a few. Crisp Chardonnays, floral Cabernet Sauvignons, and the aforementioned Pinot Noirs will pair perfectly with the Chef bites. Try your favorites and be introduced to some that are new from Bernardus Vineyard, Hahn Family Wines, McIntyre Vineyards, Silvestri Vine- yards, Pessagno Winery and many more! Between sampling the tasty bit es and delicious wines, sample Al- derete Tequila or stop by the Champagne Bar and then round things off with a Pas- try Queen cupcake or two from Dolly Cakes. As the Salinas Rotary Down- town Club's main annual fundraising event, all pro- ceeds of Pigs, Pinot & More will benefit the Charitable Fund of the Salinas Rotary Club. In the past eight years, nearly $450,000 has been raised by the event, affording the club the opportunity to support many local orga- nizations and programs, as well as international Rotary projects. Bring your friends, spouse, significant other, cousins or just make some new friends at this friendly fun festival. A not-to-be-missed event for anyone 21 and over, the Monterey Beer Festival ben- efits the Monterey County Fair Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Monterey Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, 2004 Fair- ground Road in Monterey. The Festival attracted 5,000 attendees last year who enjoyed tasting an array of outstanding beer and food. In addition to many new beers to delight the senses and please your palate this year, the Monterey Beer Festival will feature music from several live bands, special VIP ticket holder benefits, all in a totally fun, relaxed party atmosphere. Taste the best beer from around the globe from your very own souvenir Monterey Beer Fes- tival tasting pilsner included with admission. The festival will provide hundreds of beers to sample plus a variety of delicious food available to pair with your beer of choice.
