This edition's cover, "Anticipation," a scene at the surfer's beach in Monmouth Beach, was painted by artist Judy Stach of Little Silver. The image complements our feature "Surf New Jersey" by Jill Ocone. Stach, one of the shore's finest artists, is the founder of the Plein Air Painters Of The Jersey Coast, a group of artists who explore the beauty of the Jersey Shore "en plein air." Says Stach of the painting, "To see the surfers patient- ly waiting for their perfect wave with only that on their minds…and away from all of life's distractions! This brings me a familiar feeling as I also lose myself in anticipat- ing the brush on canvas and the flow of [being] lost in painting."
