www.negociosnow.com February 2019 5 Age: 39 Title: Co-Founder Name of Organization: Interpreter Tap Bio: With over a decade of experience as a real estate ap- praiser, entrepreneur, and lea- der in Chicago's small business community, Victor has assis- ted numerous clients with va- luable services based on his business acumen and ability to provide solution-based in- novation. As a young man, Victor was employed at his family's business. Through that expe- rience was the desire to crea- te a business of his own. Vic- tor later became a certified real estate appraiser, then founded his own appraisal company, Alen Appraisals, one of the top real estate ap- praisal firms in the greater Chicago area. In early 2012, Victor foun- ded Driven Solutions, LLC and Snag Cab, app-based te- chnology to make transpor- tation easier for Chicagoans. Snag Cab would help with everyday challenges and im- prove lives. Driven Solutions collabo- rated with another organi- zation to win a bid for Cen- tralized WAV ( Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) Dispatch Service for the City of Chica- go. Driven Solutions would enter as a key subcontractor providing a new way of dis- patching and a valued app for people with disabilities. Victor's mission: An app for everyone. In 2016 a longtime friend, Victor Abundis, a certified in- terpreter, and Victor formed Interpreter Tap, an innovative technological solution to over- come language barriers. Interpreter Tap is a two- sided platform via mobile application that breaks down the walls of language barriers. The app allows effective com- munications regardless of language to meet the need of providing instant access to an interpreter on a mobile devi- ce. After being a significant part of business growth for In- terpreter Tap, Victor has retur- ned to the real estate industry to work on a new program. The program is in the early stages of development. Victor attributes his pa- rents' continuous encoura- gement and support of his many business pursuits his entrepreneurial spirit, "is in my DNA." He says if it weren't for the entrepreneurial spi- rit he acquired working in his parents' printing company, he would not have risked laun- ching new ventures. His pa- rents' business provided for 11 kids at a time when many thought entrepreneurship was just too risky. Victor currently lives with his wife, Laisa and their 5 chil- dren on the North Side of Chi- cago. WORDS OF WISDOM: "S urround yourself with like- minded entrepreneurs, because they understand the hustle and grind. People who don't, are just noise." Victor Arellano Serial entrepreneur finds balance in app building
