The annual Coming Jr. Rodeo, presented by
the Corning Jr. Rodeo Association, is the place to
be.
Cost at the three-day event is $5 adults and $3
for seniors and children ages 6 to 12, children 5
and younger are free.
The event kicks off with a Hospitality Night
mixer at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Estil Clark
Park featuring food prepared by the Corning Union
High School Cheerleaders and crowning of the
Rodeo Queen.
Two nights of excitement watching kids perform
from the ages of 6 to 18 follow May 18-19.
Come see the Little Miss Pageant and the Stick
Horse Races ages 5 and younger. Everyone is
a winner. Crowning of the Rodeo Queen and the
famous Cow Chip Bingo are crowd favorites.
Live action rodeo takes place starting at 7 p.m.
on Friday, May 18 and 5 p.m. Saturday, May 19.
Slack is held during the day. Events include calf
riding, steer riding, bull riding, bareback riding,
saddle bronc riding, calf roping, steer stopping,
team roping, boys and girls poles, barrels and
goat tying, girls breakaway roping and mutton
busting both nights and dummy steer roping
Saturday night only.
Sign up early for the Butch Trimm annual
memorial jackpot roping Saturday morning
following slack. The proceeds go toward the Butch
Trimm annual scholarship.
