EMPLOYMENT EMPLOYMENT WANTED PENALTY DON'T PENALIZE YOUR BUSINESS BY NOT ADVERTISING IN 828-248-1408 Small town friendly, BIG time results! www.rutherfordweekly.com Thursday, January 31-February 6, 2013 Setting the stage for great game-day watching When you're playing a sport, the playing field is a key component of the experience, whether it's a muddy lot in the neighborhood park or top-quality turf in a pro-style stadium. When you're watching your favorite sport, the viewing environment is just as much a part of the fun as the field is for game play. As you're gearing up to watch a major football bowl game or the pivotal match of a college basketball championship tournament, it's important to set the stage for a great viewing experience. The gamewatching pros at Sanus, makers of flat screen accessories like TV wall mounts, offer a few tips for creating the perfect environment for watching the big game: Creating the focal point A flat screen TV is a must for most sports lovers and low prices on top-quality sets make it easy to get your hands on a screen worth your devotion. Don't just grab the first deal you see, however. Research brands and options to find the right screen for your needs. Once you've decided on the screen you want, take steps to display it for maximum impact. Wall mounting a flat screen is the most dramatic, convenient and safe way to display a TV - especially if it's a large set. Whatever your needs or your space, you can find a Sanus wall mount that works. Full-motion and tilting mounts allow you to move a screen to maximize viewing from multiple points in the room - so every fan has a front-row seat for the game Savvy seating Of course, you'll enjoy the game from the comfort of your own sofa or easy chair, but if you'll be entertaining guests in front of your flat screen, you'll need extra seating. Folding chairs can be uncomfortable and unreliable, so look for more comfy alternatives. The floor can be a great spot for game watching, so consider tossing some oversized cushions on the carpet and inviting guests to get comfortable. Seating should be arranged to ensure everyone has a great view of the flat screen, but don't forget to set up some seating off to the side for those who might want to chat without disturbing other watchers. Sound and light Modern flat screens offer exceptional sound quality along with great pictures, so you can be sure to hear every cheer, call and score while watching the big game. For a sound experience that makes you feel like you're sitting on the sidelines, however, look into a surround sound system. Like many other electronic devices, prices have dropped on such systems and it's now possible to score great sound for just a few hundred dollars. You can opt to have the system professionally installed, but setting up surround sound is well within the capabilities of even novice do-it-yourselfers. Finally, don't overlook the importance of lighting. If you're watching an afternoon game, pull drapes to ensure no sun glare distracts from your view of the flat screen. You'll need some lighting for night games, but keep things just bright enough to ensure guests are safe and can easily see the refreshments. Just as the right turf and a great field can make playing your favorite sport that much more enjoyable, setting the stage for great viewing can help ensure game day is a winning experience - for you and all your guests.
