The 30 students who graduated Jan. 18 from a Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership/BIG STEP training program will provide a few area employers with some much needed and immediate help. The students, many of whom reside in Milwaukee County, received training in entry-level manufacturing skills and in operating computed numerical control equipment used in factories to increase accuracy and efficiency when forming parts. The skills gap in the manufacturing sector has been a source of considerable frustration, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said.
