Gary Casper and Julia Robson will share the story of what they found and how they found it. Learn about new tools and methods for discovering rare species and explore how this type of research can be implemented in the area for preservation and conservation purposes. Nov. 20 through Nov. 29 Aggregate – 8 Sculptors / Student Gallery exhibit Where: Wisconsin Art Gallery, Concordia University Wisconsin, 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon "Aggregate – 8 Sculptors" will feature sculpture work of eight artists Charles Kraus, Denise Schanz, Frankie Flood, Teresa Lind, John Balsley, Lynda Sommers, Peter Beck and Mark Dziewior, and is dedicated to the memory of fellow sculptor George Kubiayk. The "Student Gallery Show" features the paintings of John Kowalczyk, as well as Limelight 14, another new gallery in 2018 that limits artists to 14 frames in telling their story. Katrina Smith, production and facilities manager for the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, will be displaying her photographs. For information, visit cuw.edu. Nov. 20 through Dec. 30 One-man exhibit – William Davis Where: Frank L. Weyenberg Library, 11345 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon The exhibit will feature a number of the artists' watercolor paintings and drawings, past and current work. Davis is a member of the League of Milwaukee Artists, Watercolor Society of Wisconsin, Cedarburg Artists Guild and Mequon Thiensville Senior Art League and has shown in numerous exhibitions in Southeastern Wisconsin. Tuesdays, Nov. 20 to Dec. 18 Open Basketball Time: 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Where: Kennedy Elementary School Gym, 1629 11th Ave., Grafton Cost: $3 per night This course, sponsored by Grafton Parks and Rec, features pick-up basketball, free throw shooting and more. Participants should bring light- and dark- colored shirts. Open basketball is for high school students and adults. A gym supervisor will be onsite. Attend this program led by Gems of Hope staff to help make these works of inspirational art for others. It is a chance to be creative, make something and lift the spirits of someone in need.
