And on Saturday, several highprofile names along with family members of victims came together to discuss gun violence and what can be done to prevent tragedies like this in the future. Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi, Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, U.S. Attorney James Santelle and others gathered at East Middle School in Oak Creek to remember the tragedy and provide insights on curbing gun violence. A video detailing the 911 call from that day as well as stories from the family of victims and survivors kicked off the discussion. The emotional film documented the chaos and turmoil of that day, and the many people who didn't know whether their family members were alive or dead. Mayor Steve Scaffidi, who immediately went into action to heal his city, said that the fateful day forever changed him.
