Nickie M. Foster, 22, and Marquel L. Johnson, 24, are charged with committing four robberies of taxi cab drivers, in viola- tion of the Hobbs Act for robbery interfer- ing with interstate commerce, and using and sometimes discharging a firearm dur- ing those robberies, according to the indictment. Both women are charged with the robbery of the Petro Mart on Chase Avenue in Milwaukee and the discharge of a firearm during the robbery. Martell D. Ford, 27, is charged with one taxi cab rob- bery and brandishing a firearm during it. Both Ford and Johnson are also charged with the attempted robbery of a BP Gas Station on Plankinton Avenue in Milwaukee and brandishing a firearm dur- ing that attempted robbery. A criminal complaint said in the first robbery at 14th and Washington streets on Aug. 22, Foster dropped and left her wallet with her ID after robbing the driver at gun- point, which was captured on the cab's video surveillance. Video showed her rob- bing a second and third cab driver later that day with a similar silver-colored hand- gun, the complaint said. The next day in the fourth cab robbery, Foster is accused of firing a shot at the driver after he left his cab to retrieve his tossed keys. The employee shot in the head by Foster in the Petro Mart robbery suf- fered significant cognitive impairment and Ford held the gun on him while he lay on the floor, the complaint said. Johnson's ID was found in one of the vehicles used dur- ing the crimes. She was arrested after a chase that resulted in a crash in a stolen vehicle Aug. 25, shortly after the second gas station robbery, according to the com- plaint. The complaint also showed Facebook posts by Johnson of her holding a silver .22-caliber handgun in one photo and a stack of cash in another. Each suspect faces up to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
