FOR THE Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement Announcement By KATHERINE MICHALETS Conley News Service MILWAUKEE — As part of its plan to employ 13,000 people at its future Mount Pleasant manufacturing facility, Foxconn Technology Group announced it intends to hire 3,000 veterans. On Sept. 11, the company had its first push to hire veterans when representa- tives attended the Charlotte Military Hiring Expo. Foxconn plans to attend 20 veteran career fairs in 13 states during the next three months to recruit, inter- view and hire former military personnel. "Hiring men and women who have served the country makes good business sense. Every year, some 250,000 Americans transition from the military to civilian life and Foxconn understands how this transition is an important time in the life of any veteran and their fami- lies," said Christopher "Tank" Murdock, special advisor to Foxconn's Wisconsin operations and a retired Navy captain. "As Foxconn's presence in Wisconsin continues to grow, we are continually looking for men and women who are mis- sion-focused, motivated, and team orient- ed to contribute to our vision of building a vibrant environment for talent, innova- tion and business across the state," he said. Foxconn is constructing a $10 billion production plant in Mount Pleasant in Racine County. In its announcement, Foxconn said there are more than 370,000 veterans liv- ing in Wisconsin. Foxconn has also said it wants to pro- mote diversity across its operations as the company actively recruits for posi- tions that cover a variety of areas, skill sets, and expertise to support efforts to create an extensive supply chain and a robust AI 8K+5G ecosystem that will help position Wisconsin as a global high-tech hub. "Wisconsin offers more state pro- grams for veterans than any other state," retired Col. Peter Buck said. "This puts Foxconn in a competitive position to recruit local and out-of-state veterans looking for jobs that enable them to make a difference and that offer opportunities for growth and development." The veteran job fair in Wisconsin that Foxconn plans to attend is the Milwaukee Vet Job Fair on Thursday.
