Schofield and before I make my confession, I am going to tell you my story. I was playing college tennis at Florida Atlantic University, down in Boca Raton, Fl. (Living a Mile from the beach!!!) I was living my dream playing a college sport and having a successful Freshman Year. Winning most of my matches and doing well in class everything was great. Then towards the end of the regular season we were playing a match at University Of Central Florida in Orlando and during my singles match my life changed forever. I went back to hit an overhead and my back lit up with pain. I continued to play and ended up losing the match. After the match my back continued to get tighter and tighter. The pain continued to get worse as well. I like most peo- ple thought the pain would go away. Eventually I could no longer play the pain was so bad. I went to my trainer we did ice, heat, electric stimulation, ultra sound, massage but nothing worked. I could not sleep at night, could not sit in class comfortably, I was miserable all the time. This experience taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life, if you don't have your health and feel good not- ing else matters. Finally the semester ended and I went home and my dad, a chiropractor, evaluated my back and adjusted a few bones in my back and I finally had some relief. I always thought I would be a chiropractor but that experience made me extremely passionate about helping people. Fast forward 8 years I opened a chiropractic office in West Bend with my wife, Dr Korie, and I had found if I got a standard chiropractic adjustment every 2-4 weeks my back was ok but it was never fully fixed. Then about 6 months after opening my practice the pain quit going away. I was getting adjusted 2-3 times a week and I was still having pain. I saw the same experience with my patient's after a standard adjustment they would feel good for a day or two but then they would need to get adjusted again. This is when I realized I was wrong. I thought if you got the spine moving and released tension it would find it's proper alignment but that was not happening. Many of my patient's x-rays were not improving, their posture was not changing and most importantly their problems many time were never completely going away. It was around this time I went to a W.I.N. networking meeting through the chamber and lady told me she drove all the way to Tomah to receive a NUCCA adjustment from Dr. McNally and that is the only thing that fixed her sciatica. She had tried regular chiropractic, medical doctors & physical therapy but nothing had helped her. After going to many seminars, I received my first Upper Cervical Adjustment at a Orthospinology seminar in Atlanta and my pain went away completely and I held that adjustment for over 6 months. I right away signed up and was trained in Orthospinology. Individual bones can not mis- align with out the entire body going out of alignment because they all move together.
