FOR THE Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement Announcement focusing on Foxconn while on the campaign trail, according to one of his campaign organ- izers. "We don't have the money for schools, roads, the university system, but somehow Walker can come up with the $4.5 billion to give a Chinese company," said Bryan Kennedy, campaign chairman and mayor of Glendale. Kennedy said Flynn, a cor- porate attorney, is prepared to go to federal court to argue that the deal is unconstitu- tional. Kennedy said focusing on the Foxconn deal should be a priority because "whoever is governor, their budget is going to be determined by Foxconn." "Matt Flynn is the only one who says he will get us out of Foxconn and the only veter- an in the race," Kennedy said. He said Flynn would like to see more state money diverted to infrastructure, like improving roads, and reversing the Foxconn deal would free up more money for such priorities. "There are eight great Democrats in this race, but only one who is a vet. Only one who is a former state party chair," Kennedy said. McCabe (Democrat, age 58) Mike McCabe's focus is campaign finance reform, including making the system more responsive to individuals over large donors, one of his cam- paign officials said. "He calls it 'the cancer,'" said Christine Welcher, McCabe's campaign manager, explaining McCabe's view that fixing campaign finance will pave the way for address- ing other issues. McCabe grew up on a farm and is the founder of Blue Jean Nation, a grassroots group focused on involving regu- lar citizens in government. He has worked for the watchdog groups Wisconsin Democracy Campaign and Wisconsin Taxpayer Alliance. "That time he spent doing that work, he was seeing (how) the system works and does- n't work for the average person," said Welcher, who added that McCabe's sincerity is one of his key attributes. "When you hear him speak, you can tell he's speaking from the heart and that he's honest," she said. "We're running a truly grassroots cam- paign. We have over 2,000 people around the state that have committed" to working on the local and county levels of the campaign, said Welcher, adding that McCabe won't take more than $200 in single donations or over $1,000 in total donations from an individual.
