When the Agricultural History Project was formed in 1986, it was decided that we would concentrate on building a static exhibit first (Codiga Center and Museum, Porter Building, Borina Barn, Snyder building and the infrastructure) then a Living History Farm. So here we are 32 years later, and that dream is coming true. The Board of Director of the Santa Cruz County Fair has granted AHP permission to develop a Living History Farm on prop- erty adjacent to the present AHP site. Grading will start October 6, 2018. Come visit us every 2nd Saturday of the month from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM and during the 2018 Santa Cruz County Fair September 12-16 to learn about our expansion and how you can participate in helping make it a reality. Every month we produce a 2nd Saturday on the Farm, a family event that focuses on a particular area of agri- culture. We have created many unique interactive educational activities to help visitors have fun learning about agricultural practic- es. Visit us on the Farm to milk a wooden cow, drive a real tractor or our tractor simulator, interact with farm Visit us on the Farm! By John Kegebein animals and enjoy a show at our puppet theater! Don't forget to stop by the Snyder Building and check our latest restoration project. Every month we have new hands on projects to learn about the days focus. When you visit AHP you will discover the rich agricultural history of the Central Coast. You will learn about the crops, people, and farming practices that have made the Central Coast what it is today. We have artifacts and exhibits that reflect the flowing industries: beef and dairy cattle, fruits, vege- tables, and other unique crops & many more. From potatoes to wheat to lettuce and strawberries, the Cen- tral Coast has supplied your tables for over 150 years! John Kegebein -Provided Photo
