TV Media Weekly | July 7 - 13, 2018 8 | Sunday afternoon TV screens, it's clear that HBO is committed to continuing and ex- panding the series and is playing around with several ideas for how best to do so. The as-yet-un- named pilot is set thousands of years before the events shown in "Game of Thrones" and reveals the story behind humanity's de- scent from a legendary golden age and the origins of the terrify- ing White Walkers. The pilot comes from an idea developed by "Game of Thrones" creator George R. R. Martin and "Kingsman: The Secret Service" (2015) writer Jane Goldman, and will feature an entirely new cast of characters. That's reportedly the plan for all of the potential spinoffs — while fans would un- doubtedly love to see more of Tyrion (Peter Dinklage, "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Mis- souri," 2017), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke, "Solo: A Star Wars Story," 2018) and Jon (Kit Harington, "Pompeii," 2014), their stories will have been told once "Game of Thrones" wraps up next year. A pilot is no guarantee that a series will be made, but with sev- eral "Game of Thrones" spinoffs in development, there's a strong chance that at least one of them will see the light of day. The story of Westeros, it seems, is far from finished. Now you see him, now you don't: CW's "Legends of Tomor- row" is making some changes for its upcoming fourth season. The series, which is based on a cast of characters from DC Comics and set in the Arrowverse shared con- tinuity with a number of other shows, has a number of casting changes in store. "Love, Simon" (2018) star Kei- ynan Lonsdale has announced that he's stepping back from his role of Wally West/Kid Flash. His take on the superhero originated in "The Flash," another Arrow- verse series, and he's since be- come a regular in both series, as well as a fan favorite. The young actor isn't ruling out future appearances in either se- ries, though, writing on his Insta- gram "...Wally West will still be 'round when you need him the most! It's just that I won't be full time anymore." While Lonsdale is leaving open the possibility of returning as a recurring character, two other ac- tors who've been recurring up until now have been promoted to series regulars. Matt Ryan ("Con- stantine"), who plays exorcist John Constantine, and Jes Macal- lan ("Mistresses"), who plays Ava Sharpe, will both be seeing a lot more screen time come sea- son 4. Lonsdale may be stepping back from his role in both "Leg- ends of Tomorrow" and "The Flash," but neither series is losing him for good. Both superhero se- ries are scheduled to return this fall on CW. 07/08 1 PM 1:30 2 PM 2:30 3 PM 3:30 4 PM 4:30 5 PM 5:30 6 PM 6:30 S1 S2 WTTV 4 A. Griffith Show A.
