June 12 through June 30 19th Annual Art Show for Artists 55-plus Where: Cedarburg Senior Center, W63 N643 Washington Ave., Cedarburg The exhibit is a collection of artwork created by adults 55 and older. Approximately 30 works of original art by amateur artists residing in Ozaukee County will be available for viewing and for sale. This exhibit commemorates the talent and work of students from Senior Center art classes and friends of the Center. Cedarburg Road, Mequon The works of Mequon artist Ellen Anderson, a celebration of our shore, woodlands, river and wildlife, will be on display in the second-level gallery of the library. June 12 through July 28 Battle of the Books: Summer Edition Where: Frank L. Weyenberg Library, 11345 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon Take summer reading one step further and grab a couple friends to compete in the Battle of the Books: Summer Edition. Each team of three to six participants is responsible for reading the required booklist and participating in the end-of-summer battle Saturday, July 28. This program is for those entering fifth through eighth grade in the 2018-19 school year. Registration is required and open through June 16. Contact the reference desk at 262-242- 2593, ext. 320 for information. June 12 through July 31 Summer Reading Program – Color Your World Where: Frank L. Weyenberg Library, 11345 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon Children, teens and adults can sign up for Summer Reading. A variety of activities and programs will take place all summer long; visit the calendar to view all of the program options. June 12 through early August Grafton Public Library's Summer Program Where: Grafton Public Library, 1620 11th Ave., Grafton Swing by the library during open hours and get registered for the Summer Reading Program. There is something for everyone this summer at the library, with programs for toddlers, children, teens and adults. The theme is "Libraries Rock!" Weekly prizes will be drawn all summer long. A grand prize will be drawn at the end of the summer, so be sure to stop by the Info Desk and register. Tuesdays, June 12 through June 26 Sing, Read & Play, ages 1-3 Time: 11 a.m. Where: Grafton Public Library, 1620 11th Ave., Grafton Toddlers and their caregivers can enjoy songs, rhymes, fingerplays, movement and stories led by Mrs. Jones. After storytime, families are welcome to take advantage of the library's space, toys, puzzles, building bricks and manipulatives during open play. Port Washington Road, Suite 210, Mequon Cost: Free Just-Listen provides addiction recovery resources and support services for families and friends. Select Mondays and Tuesdays, through June 25 Sociable Singles Time: Social hour 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Sociable Singles is a group of older adults who like to socialize. Members travel to various destinations, supporting each other, feeling safer doing this. They schedule card games, hiking trips, book clubs, dinners, picnics, movies, etc. There is a $25 yearly fee to cover paperwork. Sociable Singles has been in existence for 20 years in the Washington/Ozaukee/Milw aukee county areas.
