Page 22 Welcome to the May issue of Di- versity Rules Magazine. e year is chugging right along, with warmer weather around the corner. Hope- fully! It's been a tough April here in upstate NY. Old man winter just doesn't seem to want to give up his grip on us. Go away, old man. LOL. e May issue features a delight- ful person named Jamie Benson, a.k.a. e Rebel Clown. Jamie, proclaimed "one of the strongest, hottest contemporary dancers of his generation" by critic Lewis Segal, and "crazy" by e Dance Enthusiast's Christine Jowers, is a choreographer and Cornish Col- lege of the Arts drop out. Jamie is a comically inclined cho- reographer and is joining forces with Peoples Improv eater (PIT) to present Gay Stuff on May 15, 2018, from 10-11pm ($8 tickets). Benson, and his out- sider comedic team, that includes Christine Driscoll and Hannah Goldman, are debuting 3 sketches, 2 stand-up sets, and some sassy/ stupid walks for the PIT's Striker main stage. Gay Stuff will dissect internalized homophobia, oppres- sive bro prerogative, and margin- alizing gay cliches, but like, with dick jokes. I am sure you will love Jamie's interview. is isssue also features a guest commentary by Mark Segal, the Publisher of the Philadelphia Gay News. It's an insightful look into the homophobic Vice President, Mike Pence. ere are other great features included in this month's issue that I am sure you will enjoy Last, I have been alluding to some changes coming with Diversity Rules. Stay tuned for details com- ing soon., hopefully, if all goes as planned, in the June issue. See you in June my empowered brothers and sisters!
