One of network TV's most compelling heroines re- turns to the airwaves this week. Priyanka Chopra ("Fashion," 2008) reprises her role as former FBI recruit and one-time CIA op- erative Alex Parrish in the season 3 premiere of "Quantico," airing Thursday, April 26, on ABC. This season, the thrilling drama once again follows Parrish as she em- barks on a dangerous mission to save someone she loves. Once framed for a terrorist at- tack and later branded a fugitive for treason, Parrish is unques- tionably a strong female charac- ter. Sure, she's beautiful, but she's much, much more, which is why Chopra was so eager to take the role in the first place. In an ar- ticle on indiatvnews.com, Chopra describes Parrish as "Jason Bourne in female form," in refer- ence to the deadly assassin from the Robert Ludlum novels and popular film franchise. Over the course of the first two seasons, Parrish proved she was a force to be reckoned with as she used her skills to evade capture and find the real mastermind be- hind a terrorist attack that rocked Grand Central Terminal in New York. She later worked undercov- er to root out a rogue faction within the CIA. She went from the FBI's Most Wanted list to being hailed an American hero before falling from grace and earning an Interpol Red Notice for her arrest, but it looks as if there's even more of Parrish's story to tell. It appears that story includes beau Ryan Booth (Jake McLaugh- lin, "In the Valley of Elah," 2007), at least for now. Season 3 picks up three years after the events of season 2, as Parrish lives a quiet life in Italy — that is until Booth convinces her to help him rescue Shelby (Johanna Braddy, "The Grudge 3," 2009), who's been kidnapped by a notorious arms dealer known as The Widow. As they race to save their friend, Parrish and Booth bring in Harry (Russell Tovey, "Being Human") and Owen (Blair Underwood, "L.A. Law") to assist. Unfortunately, fans may be disappointed to learn that some of the show's core cast members won't be returning to the third season.
