Glenn Franklin Howerton III was born in Japan on April 13, 1976 to Janice and Glenn Franklin Howerton Jr., a fighter pilot. He grew up in London and South Korea before moving to Alabama when he was 10 years old. He was very seriously considering studying Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University before deciding to pursue acting. He spent two years at the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida, and then went on to graduate from the Juilliard School's Drama Division with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Howerton had his first starring role as Corey Howard in the short-lived "That '80s Show" (2002). He then guest starred as Dr. Nick Cooper on "ER," and had recurring guest roles in "The Mindy Project" (2013-2017) as Cliff Gilbert and the FX TV series "Fargo" (2014) as Don Chumph. He also had a recurring voice role on "The Cleveland Show" (2009-2013). He has written many episodes of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," (2005-) for which he is also a producer, director and star. The show began as a short film idea written by Howerton and co-star Rob McElhenney about a man telling his friend he might have cancer, while the friend is only trying to borrow a cup of sugar. It was then developed into a pilot called "It's Always Sunny on TV" and was shot on a digital camcorder by Howerton, McEl- henney and co-star Charlie Day. Their pilot was shopped around various studios before being picked up by FX. Howerton married actress Jill Latiano on September 8, 2009. Together, they have two children. Their first son, Miles Robert, was born in 2011, and their second son, Isley Ray, in 2014. Howerton is currently starring in "A.P. Bio" on NBC.
