B-2 Sports Wednesday, Februar y 21, 2018 The Press-Dispatch Heritage Hills, meanwhile, won the 400 -yard freestyle re- lay with a time of 3:15.47 af- ter posting a time of 3:24.80 to place first during prelim- inaries. "Heritage Hills was in first place, so they were ready to go, and they were fully rest- ed, whereas Lukas just got out of the breaststroke, so we knew it was going to be really hard to get that one," Mike Bohnert said. "At PAC, we had the horsepower to go after it and were able to pull it off. We were a lot slower, but we swam well." While Jacob Bohnert and Lukas Hill had teamed up with McKinney and Marchi- no to advance to the state meet in the 200 -yard med- ley relay each of the last two years, Mike Bohnert chose to put them – along with Cassit- ty and Mills – in the 200 -free- style relay instead. "We moved around to the 200 free because we knew we weren't as strong in the med- ley," Mike Bohnert said. "So we thought maybe the 200 free would suit us better, and we did well. We pulled it off." "I think everybody was ready to go to state, and we were planning to do it in that (event)," said Jacob Bohnert, who also placed third in the 100 -yard freestyle with a per- sonal record time of 48.89 seconds, besting his previ- ous PR time of 49.11, after posting a season-best time of 50.56 seconds to place fifth during preliminaries. "And we carried through with it." Lukas Hill, after advanc- ing to the state meet in the 200 -yard individual medley and the 100 -yard breaststroke each of the last two years, placed second in both events during Saturday's finals. Bedford North Lawrence se- nior Alec Chastain placed first with a time of 1:01.69. "He just didn't have it to- day," Mike Bohnert said. "He's had a long career of swimming, and I think he's just ready to move onto that next phase of life."
