PEAVLER Delores M. Peavler, 87, of Princeton, formerly of Francisco, entered rest on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at The Waters in Princeton. She was born on April 21, 1930, in Keensburg, Ill., to Elze Claud and De- si Ann (Lowe)Peavler. She was a cook for sever- al years at Johnson Restau- rant and was a homemak- er. She was very proud of her family, which always brought a smile to her face. She is survived by sons, Tim Peavler, of Francis- co, and Randy Peavler, of Grayville, Ill.; one grand- daughter; two great-grand- sons; and a sister, Minnie Dossett, of South Haven, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents; sis- ter; seven brothers; grand- son, Benjamin Eads; and her husband, Fred Peavler. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Janu- ary 11, 2018, at the Lamb- Basham Memorial Cha- pel, with burial in Fran- cisco Cemetery. Rev John Peach will be officiating. BET TY ANN AUTEN Betty Ann Auten, 83, passed away January 8, 2018, at her home. She was born in Somer- ville to the late Christian and Madia Schmett on Oc- tober 3, 1934. She was a member of the Winslow Christian Church and Beta Sigma Fi sorority. She is survived by her son, Kurt Auten, of Win- slow; daughter, Melody Auten, of Evansville; and a sister, Deloris Siever. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Schmett; and a sis- ter, Ailene Benton. Services for will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Alex Benefiel, Pastor Crystal Benefiel, Reporter Superior Ag promotes Danny Hoffman to Plant Manager Superior Ag in Hunting- burg announce the promo- tion of Danny Hoffman as the Feed Mill Plant Manag- er for their Dale Feed Mill Facility, which is scheduled to begin production in late- May of 2018. In his new position, Hoff- man will continue to serve customers who do business with our Jasper Feed Mill Location, along with the re- sponsibilities of operations for the new feed mill, includ- ing safety, receiving, manu- facturing, delivery, quality, cost and employee relations. With this position, Hoffman will be headquartered out of the Jasper Feed Mill, until production commences at our new Feed Mill in Dale late-May of 2018. Hoffman has worked over 39 years in the Livestock Nutrition industry. His ca- reer began as mill opera- tions and has served as the Branch Manager at the Jas- per Superior Ag Feed Mill location for the past seven years. "We're very fortunate to have someone with Dan- ny's credentials and experi- ence within the company," said Barry Day, Superior Ag President and CEO. Hoffman and his wife Karen reside in Schnellville. They have two daughters: Heather (Andy) Lindauer and Haley Hoffman, along with four grandchildren. Danny Hoffman Pike Co. Young Farmers attended 51st National Institute Seven members of the Pike County Young Farm- ers Chapter attended the 51st National Young Farmer Institute in Savannah, Ga., December 6 -9. During the Institute, they toured the JCB Manufactur- ing plant that builds farm and industrial equipment, and the Port of Savannah, which is the fourth busiest port in the USA. Tours were also made of a large cotton gin and peanut processing facilities. The members al- so attended other Ag Edu- cation sessions during the institute. Pike County members were joined by 17 other members from all across In- diana and 270 people repre- senting 17 states.
