Legal real estate restrictions were implemented upon the operations of the Daviess County Landfill for the benefit of the taxpayers to limit usage of the landfill to only Daviess County residential and business waste. Anyone, including Daviess County residents or businesses, who knowingly bring in trash from any county, other than Daviess County will be deemed guilty of a Class A infraction, will lose their landfill privileges, and can be fined up to $2500.00. In accordance with State and Federal regulations, Landfill Personnel conduct routine random load inspections and have noticed a steady increase in waste coming from Dubois, Greene, Knox, Martin, and Pike Counties. Due to the increased tonnage intake this notice serves as a gentle reminder to our public as to the Law in Daviess County. Know that we are continually monitoring our waste stream and collecting information in an effort to determine those specifically responsible for the illegal dumping.
